Govert Metaal
Govert Metaal

Govert Metaal limped from early position. Daniel Allen made it 1,200 to go on the cutoff, and Walid Mubarak called on the button. Metaal also tossed in calling chips, after which a K8K flop was dealt.

Metaal checked to Allen, who continued for 800. Mubarak got out of the way, but Metaal called to the 9 turn, where Allen sized up to 1,800.

Metaal cut out a call and put it in the middle, after which the 6 river was checked to showdown. Metaal tabled 77 for kings and sevens, and Allen's cards hit the muck in frustration.

Astedt Wins Amid Strange Dynamic

Level 3 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante
Niklas Astedt
Niklas Astedt

Niklas Astedt raised under the gun to 900, but when action folded to Christopher Roat in the hijack, he announced "Raise" before throwing in a 1,000 chip. A couple of players at the table then advised the dealer that Roat should be held to a raise of 1,400. Roat had no objections and put 1,400 into the middle.

Action then folded back to Astedt, who had new information to work with. After taking a second, he four-bet to 4,500 and Roat called, putting an end to the preflop drama.

Roat commented that this dynamic is a good way of getting yourself into trouble, before the two players went to a flop.

Astedt continued with a bet of 1,500 on the 779 flop, which was met with a raise to 4,500 by Roat. The clicking wasn't over yet, though, as Astedt three-bet to 12,000. This put an end to the hand, as Roat immediately returned his cards to the dealer.

Sitzoukis Gets Him

Level 3 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante

Five players saw a flop of 6104 and action checked all the way through. The same happened on the A turn, which brought in the Q river.

Here, two players checked to Fabrice Maltez, who decided to stab for 2,200. Paris Sitzoukis on his direct left called, and the other three folded. Maltez shrugged and showed 33 for sixth pair, meaning Sitzoukis' AJ was good enough to take in the pot. "Got him" he said as he collected his chips.
