Charlton Wins at Showdown

Level 3 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante
Daniel Charlton
Daniel Charlton

Daniel Charlton opened in the cutoff to 1,000, just to see Nikita Kutukov three-bet to 3,000, on his immediate left. The players in the blinds folded, but Charlton made the call to see three.

Charlton continued with a check-call approach when Kutukov put out a bet of 2,200 on the 6KA flop.

Both players checked the 10 turn, and they both checked the 9 river, too.

Charlton flipped over Q10 for a pair of tens, and that was enough to win the pot as Kutukov mucked his hand.

Luis Galvao raised to 900 under the gun. Najeem Ajez called in middle position, Chase Watson did so in the seat next to him, Vernon Barlow came along in the cutoff, and Jesse Lonis and Paul Hong called in the blinds.

It checked to Barlow on the 6A4 flop, who bet 1,100. Lonis then raised to 3,900, which folded out the entire table, including Barlow.

Gates Busts Grohnert

Level 3 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante
Andre Grohnert
Andre Grohnert

Andre Grohnert moved all in for his last 4,100 from the button, and Garry Gates made the call from the small blind, prompting both players to table their hands.

Andre Grohnert: 44All in
Garry Gates: 88

Grohnert needed help to stay alive, but the board ran out 107QK9, offering no lifeline for his pocket fours. The German online qualifier saw his Main Event run come to an end faster than he would have hoped, while Gates continued to build his stack.

Konnikova and Keating Take a Tumble

Level 3 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante
Maria Konnikova
Maria Konnikova

Jonathan Byrd opened to 1,000 from under the gun and Maria Konnikova called from the cutoff. Zachary Walker three-bet to 4,000 on the button and only Konnikova called.

The players saw the Q8K flop, and checked to the 9 turn. Konnikova checked and Walker bet 4,000, prompting Konnikova to fold.

In the next hand Konnikova opened the hijack to 1,000 and Jesse Klinger called from the small blind.

The 368 flop saw Klinger check-call Konnikova's 700 bet.

Both checked the 5 turn to see the 10 river, and Klinger bet out 2,200. Konnikova mucked, handing over the pot.

The final hand saw David Wells open from early position to 1,000 and Konnikova called, sitting to his direct left.

The J9J flop saw Wells check, Konnikova bet 1,100 and Wells call.

Both checked the 3 turn to get to the 5 river, which saw Wells bet 3,500 into the pot. Konnikova folded, and within three consecutive hands had taken quite a tumble in chips.

Alan Keating also recently took a seat at the same table, but sits with just over half starting stack, after also taking a fall.

Sokchheka Pho raised to 800 and Alan Dworetsky three-bet to 2,700 in the small blind, Phonsavanh Phannavong in the big blind and Pho called. On the Q43 flop, it checked to Pho and his bet of 4,500 was called only by Phannavong.

The 10 fell on the turn and Phannavong checked before folding to another bet of 6,800 while Dworetsky was shaking his head.

Barbero's Read Is Spot On

Level 3 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante
Nacho Barbero
Nacho Barbero

Nacho Barbero squeezed to 5,000 on the button and Sean Jazayeri called from early position. In between them was Daniel Wirgau, who had two T-1,000 chips out in front and called as well after some consideration.

The 752 flop was checked to Barbero, who bet 7,000. Jazayeri folded and Wirgau then pushed all in.

"You finally decided to get it in with tens, right?" Barbero murmured, and gave it a few seconds before he folded by adding, "I can't beat tens."

Wirgau collected the pot, but not before revealing his cards - it was the 1010.

Carter Rivers Quads and Gets Snap-Called

Level 3 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante

David Carter from under the gun and Steven Mast from the cutoff were heads-up to a completed board of KKJ10K with 8,400 in the middle.

Carter opted to lead for 4,000 and Mast nearly beat him into the pot as he instantly tossed in a chip to call.

Carter then made the grand reveal of AK for quad kings as he scooped another pot and has already doubled his starting stack.

Raman Hits the River to Avoid Elimination

Level 3 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante

Ray Attiyah limped under the gun before Stephen Garner raised to 1,500 from middle position. Naing Thu called from the hijack, but Sivakumar Raman squeezed to 7,000 from the cutoff. Preston Johnson jammed for 41,600 from the big blind, which got three folds before Raman called for his stack of roughly 34,000.

Sivakumar Raman: JJ All in
Preston Johnson: AK

Raman needed to win the flip to stay alive. The 1022 flop was great for Raman, but the K turn was a disaster as Johnson improved to top pair. However, the J on the river gave Raman a set and he reacted by bashing the table in celebration. The pot was pushed to Raman and Johnson was left with just 8,000.

Shen Flips the Script on the River

Level 3 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante

Yin Shen opened the action with a raise to 900 from early position, picking up a call from Philip Capron in middle position. Mark Davidoff then three-bet to 3,500 from the hijack, and both Shen and Capron came along.

The flop came 448, and after a check from both opponents, Davidoff continued for 4,000. Shen was the only caller, taking the hand to the 8 turn, where both players checked.

On the 10 river, Shen flipped the script and led out for 5,000. Davidoff didn’t waste much time before mucking his hand, and Shen collected the pot.
