Nguyen and Gagnon Chop as Kabrhel Fumes Into Break

Level 7 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

The rest of the room had already cleared out for break while a situation had developed at Martin Kabrhel's table.

Kabrhel had 10,000 in front of him under the gun before Samuel Gagnon moved all in for 26,000 in early position. Hung Nguyen called on the button as action went back on Kabrhel.

Kabrhel believed he had been short-changed out of the pot and demanded that the floor check the cameras. Two officials came by and told him that nothing was found on surveillance, but that didn't pacify Kabrhel, was continued to yell at them to check again.

Another player eventually called the clock and Kabrhel, while still complaining, eventually called. The flop came 786 and Nguyen moved all in.

Kabrhel asked for a count, even though Nguyen had his 50,000 well-covered. "What is the point?" Nguyen asked him.

"To waste time on our break," another tablemate added. The clock was again called on Kabrhel and he soon folded.

"You got it man," Nguyen told Gagnon as the cards were revealed.

Samuel Gagnon: AK All in
Hung Nguyen: AK

Both players turned over the same hand, while Nguyen was freerolling to a flush. The 10 fell on the turn to remove that possibility, while the A completed the board on the river and they chopped the pot.

Kabrhel quickly stormed out of the tournament area, still fuming at the tournament officials. "That dude is crazy. I beat him in two pots. That's why he left so quickly," Nguyen said.

Time for a Breather

Level 7 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante
Vanessa Selbst
Vanessa Selbst

Players have been sent on their second 20-minute break of the day.

There are currently 2,214 players remaining in Day 2abc. Late registration will close at the end of the break.

Here are some highlights from the past level:

Bishop Two-Outers Yonnotti

Level 8 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante
Joseph Bishop
Joseph Bishop

David Yonnotti and Joseph Bishop were the only two players contesting a pot, with 32,000 in the middle. They arrived to the turn with the board reading Q23A and Bishop had the all in button in front of him. Covered, Yonnotti had to make a decision for his tournament life, and he ultimately landed on a call.

David Yonnotti: A5 All in
Joseph Bishop: J10

Yonnotti had top pair, the nut flush draw, and a gutshot. Bishop had an inferior flush draw, but a better gutshot. That being said, only a non-heart king would give him the knockout. "You have me, good game, man," said Bishop, making what came next all the more painful. The K peeled off on the river, as "Woah!" could be heard around the table. Yonnotti left gracefully, offering a "GG" to his table.

McSwiney Sends Warlow Out

Level 8 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante
Joshua McSwiney
Joshua McSwiney

There were around 7,000 chips in the pot on a 96Q flop when Joshua McSwiney checked from under the gun and Louis Warlow bet 3,000 from the hijack. McSwiney then put in a check-raise to 13,500, before Warlow three-bet shoved for around 50,000. McSwiney didn't seem too impressed, but ultimately did make the call.

Louis Warlow: KQ All in
Joshua McSwiney: Q9

McSwiney found himself in the lead, but had to dodge a few more outs when the A hit the turn. Warlow had one shot to stay alive, but couldn't make it happen as the 7 filled out the board, which meant he was eliminated.

Ace from Space Gives Mase a Double

Level 8 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante
Mikki Mase
Mikki Mase

Mikki Mase and Frank Lagodich were heads-up in the blinds with around 24,000 in the middle going to the flop of 1098. Mase checked to Lagodich who bet 10,000 and Mase check-raised to 25,000 which Lagodich called.

The turn was the 2 and Mase checked again. Lagodich tossed in a bet of 26,000 and Mase called to see the A on the river. Mase quickly used both hands to put the last of his 50,600 chips in the middle which sent Lagodich into the tank.

Less than two minutes had passed before Mase asked if he could call the clock. The dealer obliged and Lagodich was given thirty seconds to act. Lagodich eventually called and Mase turned over AQ for a rivered pair, good enough to overcome the KK of Lagodich.

Belov Smacks the Flop to Double Off Sanechika

Level 8 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Nana Sanechika raised to 2,500 in the hijack and Sviatoslav Belov three-bet to 10,000 in the small blind. Sanechika called and they saw a flop of Q37.

Belov continued for 7,500 and Sanechika called. Belov bet another 20,000 on the 6 turn and Sanechika again called.

The river was the 5 and Belov moved all in for 37,200. Sanechika snap-called with KQ, but Belov had 109 for a flopped flush to win the pot and double up.

"Are you a cash game player? Because cash game players don't call in the small blind," a tablemate said to Belov.

"Actually, I'm recreational," Belov replied.

Gorham Sends Spector Packing

Level 8 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante
James Gorham
James Gorham

James Gorham raised from under the gun and called a three-bet by Sean Spector in the big blind. The latter then fired three barrels on a board of K325A, all of which Gorham called. It was 20,000 to go on the turn and around 60,000 shove on the river.

"I don't like it but I call," Gorham immediately said and Spector tabled the AK for the top two pair. Gorham had that beat with 22 for a set of deuces.

In the next hand, Ilan Boujenah raised to 2,400 and received multiple callers including Gorham in the big blind. The J75 flop saw Dimitrios Kilintaris bet 3,500 and Brian Andrews called. Gorham check-raised to 16,000 and Boujenah folded while the other two players called.

No more betting action followed on the 9 turn and 9 river for Gorham to reveal the 75. Kilintaris had that beat with the AJ to claim the last pot before their table broke.
