2025 World Series of Poker
Zarvan Tumboli opened to 200,000 before Adam Hendrix made it 475,000 two seats over. Tukboli jammed for around 2,000,000 more and Hendrix snap-called as the bigger stack.
Zarvan Tumboli: K♥K♣
Adam Hendrix: J♥J♣
Hendrix immediately took the lead, improving to a full house on the J♦5♥5♣ flop, and secured the pot after the 8♠ turn and 10♣ river.
Diego Ponce three-bet in middle position before Florian Ribouchon moved all in for 3,700,000 from the button. The table folded back around to Ponce who called and put Ribouchon at risk.
Florian Ribouchon: J♣J♦
Diego Ponce: Q♣Q♠
Ribouchon found himself crushed holding jacks against Ponce's queens, and the Q♥4♦3♦ flop improved Ponce to top set. The rest of the board came 5♥9♦ and Ribouchon was sent to the rail.
Holding A♦9♥, Sam Darkin made it 200,000 to go from the cutoff with Kyle Grupp calling from the button with Q♥J♥. Michael Mizrachi squeezed to 1,100,000 from the big blind with K♦K♣, and only Grupp called.
The dealer fanned out the flop of 4♥7♣A♣ and Mizrachi led out for 500,000. Again, Grupp called.
The 2♠ rolled off on the turn, and Mizrachi double-barrelled for 850,000. Grupp snap-folded, and Mizrachi picked up the pot.
"Would you call it off knowing you're facing the nuts in the Main Event?"
Craig Trost found himself asking this in a heads-up pot against Michael Mizrachi to his left on a board of 6♠7♦8♥.
Trost had committed nearly all of his stack of 845,000 with just a single 5,000 chip behind. Mizrachi, thinking his opponent was all in, called and tabled the nuts with 10♥9♥. Trost had a decision: call knowing you are up against the nuts, or fold and be left with less than a tenth of a small blind.
"It's a pretty weird spot," Trost said. "I mean, it's a legitimate decision."
Trost called and his cards joined Mizrachi's on their backs.
Craig Trost: KxKx
Trost was nearly dead but the 6♦ turn kept him alive as the table braced for what could be a crazy river. But the 8♣ bricked off and Trost was sent to the rail as Mizrachi's straight held up.
Adam Hendrix opened to 260,000 in middle position and Pedro Padilha three-bet to 825,000 in the cutoff. Hendrix called.
Hendrix checked on the flop of 10♣4♠3♦ and Padilha continued for 750,000. Hendrix called. Hendrix checked again on the 3♣ turn and Padilha sized up to 1,700,000. Hendrix again called.
Hendrix checked once more on the 10♦ river and Padilha checked back as Hendrix showed Q♣Q♥ to win the pot.
"Nice hand! Just hanging on," said Theo Tran.
"You know me," said Hendrix.
Michael Mizrachi in the big blind and Richard Buckingham from an early position tangled in a preflop all-in with nearly identical stack sizes and Mizrachi vaulted out of his chair while motioning to his nearby rail.
Richard Buckingham: 4♦4♣
Michael Mizrachi: Q♦Q♣
The suits were covered and Buckingham found no escape on the 9♥7♦3♠10♥J♦ runout. Both stacks were counted and the 5.5 million of Buckingham were covered by only a few blinds.
Soon after, Dillon Ott pushed all in for around 3,100,000 and Mizrachi called in the next seat.
Dillon Ott: A♦K♦
Michael Mizrachi: Q♦Q♥
The pocket pair held and made a flush on the 7♥6♥2♣4♥9♥ board to score the next knockout.
In the meanwhile, Kohei Arai raised to 300,000 and Leon Sturm three-bet to 750,000. Yong Han cold four-bet to 1,600,000 in the big blind for Arai to reluctantly fold. Sturm five-bet jammed and Han folded.
Michael Mizrachi led out for 150,000 from the big blind on a flop of 7♣10♣10♠ and Daehyung Lee called in the hijack.
Mizrachi bet another 300,000 on the 9♠ turn and Lee called. The river was the 8♥ and Mizrachi bet 550,000. Lee again called.
"Straight. Do you have a jack?" Mizrachi asked, and Lee turned over A♥J♦ for a higher straight to win the pot.
At the same time at another table, Kohei Arai was all-in for 2,175,000 from the button on a flop of J♦7♥5♥ and Leon Sturm called in the big blind.
Kohei Arai: J♥10♥
Leon Sturm: J♣4♥
Arai was ahead with top pair with a flush draw, and the board ran out 3♠Q♠ as his ten-kicker continued to play to earn him a double up.
