Wasnock Fills Up to Send Yang Home

Level 27 : Blinds 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante
Kai Yang
Kai Yang

John Wasnock opened 1010 to 250,000 from the hijack and Kai Yang called in the big blind with QJ.

Both flopped well on 3910 as Yang hit an open-ender and Wasnock made top set. Yang checked it over and Wasnock continued with a bet of 200,000. Yang had 1,300,000 in his stack and made it 775,000, Wasnock shoved, and yang called off the rest.

Yang needed a king or an eight, but was left dead on the 9 turn as Wasnock made a boat. A Q on the river was just a formality, and Yang headed to the exit just before dinner.

Haxton Can't Triple After Six-Minute Tank

Level 27 : Blinds 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante
Issac Haxton
Issac Haxton

Johan Schumacher opened to 200,000 in middle position and Isaac Haxton three-bet to around 1,400,000 from the cutoff with just a single 5,000 chip behind.

Jose Bogarin called in the big blind and Schumacher re-shoved to send Haxton into a deep tank with a pay jump looming.

"Feel free to call the clock on me when you think it's been enough time," Haxton told his tablemates repeatedly.

A few minutes into Haxton's tank, it became apparent that Bogarin had also been in the tank. Not knowing Haxton had chips behind, Bogarin folded out of turn. After several more minutes of tanking, Yuchen Chen called the clock and Haxton called.

Johan Schumacher: AK All in
Isaac Haxton: 33

"I was hoping it would be ace-king," Haxton said as the board ran out 9AQ5K to mark his elimination. Despite the holdup, he missed the pay jump.

It wasn't until after the hand that Bogarin realized he had acted out of turn.

"Ohhhhh," he said with a look of shock as he touched his face.

Kosaku Akashi: AA All in
Steven Alper: 77

Akashi had woken up with aces and was a big favorite to double up as the board ran out JQ622. "Why couldn't it be ace-king," Alper joked with Akashi before he handed over the pot.

Mounir Tajiou

Richard Freitas looked down at Q8 in the small blind and limped in, which drew a check out of Mounir Tajiou in the big blind with 94.

Freitas fired 100,000 on the 8K3 flop as he paired his eight, and Tajiou floated one to see the Q turn. Freitas checked, Tajiou bet 275,000, and Freitas called.

A 9 landed on the river and again Freitas checked, and Tajiou neglected to take his showdown value as he threw out 325,000. Freitas then raised with his two pair to 900,000, and Tajiou paid it off with his pair of nines.
