Ace from Space for Brierton

Level 28 : Blinds 60,000/120,000, 120,000 ante

Action was picked up on the turn, with J549 having been put out by the dealer, and 1,050,000 in the pot. Alexandra Brierton was facing a bet from Andrew Connor that would have put her at risk for her tournament life if she called. After a few minutes, she flicked in a chip, risking her final 815,000.

Alexandra Brierton: A5 All in
Andrew Connor: KJ

Brierton was drawing slim, but never dead as the A on the river improved her to two pair, enough to take the pot from a frustrated Connor. He stood up and let out a couple of expletives, struggling to believe that he had been beaten in the hand.

Hall Gets Sousad

Level 28 : Blinds 60,000/120,000, 120,000 ante

On the 549 flop and the pot already swollen, Tom Hall led out for 270,000 from under the gun.

Fabio Desousa in middle position went into the tank and announced that he was all-in for 1,400,000. Hall thought for a short while and made the call.

Tom Hall: A9

Desousa was way ahead, and when the J pinged on the turn, it sealed the deal for a full double up and some. The irrelevant 6 peeled off on the river.

Brierton Put to the Ultimate Test

Level 27 : Blinds 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante

Adam Greenlee opened the action with a 200,000 raise from early position. Alexandra Brierton three-bet to 425,000 from the hijack, and Greenlee called.

On a flop of 945 Greenlee put in a check-raise to 380,000 following a bet of 175,000 from Brierton. She made the call, bringing in the 8 turn. Here, Greenlee open-shoved, putting Brierton deep into the tank. After a few minutes of thought, she released her cards.

At the same table, Paul Grisi is on quite the spin-up. Having arrived to the table with 80,000, good for just one big blind at the time, he has managed to increase his stack more than twenty-fold, as at its peak he had 2,200,000. He is currently sitting on just less than two million.
