Drees Draws Dead

Level 3 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante

Peter Drees open-jammed for his last 2,400 from early position and Nestor Martinez called from the hijack. Navid Saberin also called from the big blind and the players went three-ways to the flop with Drees at risk.

The 1037 was fanned and action was checked to the 7 turn. Martinez bet 4,000 which was enough to see Saberin fold and Drees got to see his fate.

Peter Drees: A5All in
Nestor Martinez: A10

Drees hit the rail as soon as the cards were flipped as there was no way for him to come back on the 9 river.

Messas Shows Kings

Level 3 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante

Jeremy Messas opened to 800 from the cutoff, and Nestor Martinez made the call on the button. Big blind Ovakim Kanondzhyan three-bet to 2,500, then called Messas' four-bet to 6,500 following a fold from Martinez.

The Q69 flop was checked to Messas, who carried on with a bet of 2,500. Kanondzhyan called, before action checked through on the 4 river.

The 7 peeled off on the river, and Kanondzhyan checked for a third time, before snap-calling a bet of 6,500. Messas tabled KK and Kanondzhyan mucked.

"You have a heart?" he then asked.

"I had jacks with a heart," he let his opponent know. Messas didn't respond.

Masato Yokosawa
Masato Yokosawa

Heads-up on a flop of 4JQ with about 8,000 already in the middle, Masato Yokosawa bet 5,000 from the hijack and David Bach called on the button.

The 2 fell on the turn and Yokosawa barreled for 13,000. Bach again called.

Yokosawa sized up for a 26,000 bet on the J river, sending Bach deep into the tank.

Bach counted out 26,000 in chips and shuffled them in his hand as he contemplated his decision.

"I'm really not sure you have it," Bach said.

Yokosawa remained stoic and Bach eventually put his calling chips into the middle.

Yokosawa revealed AA and Bach offered a "Nice hand" before sending his cards into the muck.

The K turn led to another check from Ong. Rank kept up the betting with a second barrel of 2,500. Ong obliged with a call.

Ong checked for a third time, and Rank fired a third barrel for 6,000 on the 6 river. Ong made the call, and Rank showed he flopped it when he tabled K10.

Three Bets on the Flop

Level 3 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante

Picking up the action with 3,300 in the pot, Ryuta Nakai checked in the big blind on a 1092 flop, and John Johnson did the same in early position. That prompted Glenn Cozen to bet 2,000 on the button. Nakai then responded with a check-raise, making it 5,600 to go, before Johnson put in his own check-raise, increasing it to 16,600.

Cozen remained interested, taking a minute or two before folding, but Nakai didn't need as long to decide, immediately mucking his cards, seeing Johnson pull in the pot.

Carrillo Sends Zhang to the Rail

Level 3 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante

Suwei Yang opened from the hijack to 1,000 and Hongjiang Zhang put himself at risk from the button after moving his last 7,000 into the middle. Don Carrillo was in the big blind and re-raised to 15,000 and Yang mucked.

Hongjiang Zhang: A7All in
Don Carrillo: AK

Zhang stood from the table after seeing that he was behind after running into Carrillo's big slick. The 2QA flop saw both pick up top pair but Carrillo was still ahead with the King kicker.

A K turn took away Zhang's tournament life as there was no way for him to recover on the K river.

Correa Calls Cook for Chop

Level 3 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante

There was 21,000 in the middle with a board reading J94J and early position player James Cook bet out for 12,000. His only opponent in the hand, Jacques Correa Ortega, didn't take too long before calling.

The river 7 completed the board, and Cook didn't slow down, as he chucked in a green T-25,000 chip. Correa Ortega went deep into the tank, taking about four minutes to come to a decision. Eventually, he stuck in the call.

Cook showed J10 for trips, and Correa Ortega triumphantly slammed down J10 as the two chopped the pot.
