Kai Nicholls: A♦K♠
Vaughn Michaud: 7♣7♦
It was a classic flip, with Nicholls just behind in the race. He was hoping to pick up but the 9♠5♦J♥ didn't bring much to work with. The 4♦ turn and 8♠ river saw to his elimination and Michaud scooped the pot, putting him as the chip leader in the second level of the Main Event Day 2abc.

Pablo Iparraguirre: 10♠10♦
Frederic Normand: A♣K♣
It was a coinflip scenario as the J♦6♠2♣ flop kept Iparraguirre in the lead, but Normand picked up some backdoor draws. However, nothing materialized on the 2♦J♠ runout, and Iparraguirre's tens remained best to secure the double.
Paris Sitzoukis opened to 2,000 from the hijack and called a three-bet of 5,000 from Phil Hellmuth, who was in the big blind.

Hellmuth announced a dark check before the dealer brought the A♥ on the river and Sitzoukis checked behind.
"Eights," Hellmuth said as he turned over 8♥8♣. Sitzoukis revealed Q♠Q♦ and was sent the pot.
"On any other card I'm bombing the river!" Sitzoukis said.
Thomas Cemm bet 3,000 from the big blind on a board of 8♣K♦7♣2♥ and Max Kingstone raised to 25,000 in the hijack. Cemm then moved all in for 25,300, and Kingstone called for the additional few chips.
Cemm showed K♠5♠ for top pair, but Kingstone had A♠K♥ and was ahead with his ace-kicker. The river was the J♣ and Kingstone secured the pot to send Cemm to the rail.

McGinnis checked on the Q♥Q♣10♣ flop and Hellmuth immediately checked back.
On the 4♠ turn, McGinnis checked again to Hellmuth who announced a bet of 10,000, and McGinnis quickly folded, prompting Hellmuth to slam J♥J♦ into the middle.
The very next hand, Sonny Franco opened to 2,000 from the hijack and Hellmuth three-bet to 7,700 from the cutoff, which Franco called.

Koon was unable to improve on the river 4♣, and the two-time WSOP bracelet winner was eliminated from the tournament.
