Theriault's Double Barrel Does the Job

Level 9 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

Jerome Theriault bumped it up to 3,000 from the button, and Eric Atchison called from the small blind. The big blind came along as well.

When the action checked to Theriault on the 338 flop, he fired for 4,500. Only Atchison continued with a call.

The 3 came on the turn, and Atchison checked for a second time. Theriault fired a second barrel of 9,000, which proved enough to get Atchison to toss his cards into the muck.

Hochman Flops Top Set to Double

Level 9 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

Corey Hochman opened from early position. Martin Sgrilletti called from two seats over before David McLaughlin in the hijack moved all in for 18,000. Safira Molina on the button called, as did Hochman and Sgrilletti.

The dealer fanned a flop of 1069 and Hochman led out for 25,000. Sgrilletti went into the tank before folding, while Molina jammed for 76,000. Hochman snap-called off his last 54,000.

David McLaughlin: A4 All in
Corey Hochman: 1010 All in
Safira Molina: AA

Hochman flopped top set to crack aces. The 32 runout kept him in the lead and he scooped the pot while McLaughlin was eliminated.

Evans Forces a Fold From Jaffe

Level 9 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

Jonathan Jaffe raised to 4,000 from the hijack and called a three-bet of 11,000 from Jody Evans on the button.

Jaffe checked to Evans, who sized down for a bet of 7,500 on the 65J flop. Jaffe re-checked his hole cards and tossed them into the muck and Evans padded his stack.

Poker Player Leaves WSOP Main Event Stack for $1/$2 Cash Games & Movies

Level 9 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante
Amit Agarwal
Amit Agarwal

One poker player has been doing the 2026 World Series of Poker Main Event a little differently than everyone else.

Recreational player Amit Agarwal has become one of Poker Twitter's unexpected stars over the last few days, documenting a Main Event run that's featured more trips to the movie theater than hours at the poker table.

Rather than grinding every level of poker's world championship, Agarwal has repeatedly left with chips still in play to watch Obsession — a film he'd already seen several times — jump into low-stakes cash games, hit the gym, grab dinner and document it all on X. Somehow, despite repeatedly cutting his days short, he's managed to turn his 60,000-chip starting stack into more than 200,000.

Bifulco Pays Off Paur

Level 9 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante
Taylor Paur

Heads up to the turn of J548 with about 40,000 in the pot, Douglas Bifulco led out from late position for 10,000, only for Taylor Paur, in the cutoff, to raise to 30,000. Bifulco thought for a while and made the call.

The river brought the 9, and Bifulco checked to Paur, who fired off a river bet of 60,000.

Bifulco went into the tank for a short while and tossed in the call only to toss his cards into the muck on seeing Paur table A6 for the nuts.

Kawazu Wins Battle Preflop

Level 9 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

Motomi Kawazu began the action with an open to 3,500 from the hijack. Kathy Liebert came along with a call on the button.

Jermaine Gerlin was interested in putting more chips in the pot, as he chose to three-bet to 13,000 from the big blind.

Kawazu reopened the bidding with a four-bet to 30,000. Liebert bowed out with a fold, and Gerlin gave it little thought before he ejected his hand to award Kawazu the pot preflop.

McCoy Cracks Jung's Kings

Level 9 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

Jaiho Jung raised to 3,000 from early position. Timothy Haselbarth on the button, Charles Wilson in the small blind, and Benjamin McCoy in the big blind all called.

The flop rolled out AQ10 and action checked through to the turn 6 where action checked to McCoy who bet 3,500 and only Jung called.

On the river 5, McCoy bet 6,000 and Jung sighed before matching the bet.

McCoy tabled A8 for a pair of aces which was good against Jung who showed a KK for a pair of kings before mucking.

Aces vs Kings vs Queens

Level 9 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante
Derek Gregory
Derek Gregory

Joseph Driscoll raised to 3,000 from early position, and Dane Coltman jammed for 36,500 from the hijack. Derek Gregory cold-called on the button before Driscoll reshoved, covering both players. Gregory snap-called for his remaining 146,500, giving Driscoll the chance to bust two opponents.

Dane Coltman: QQ All in
Derek Gregory: AA All in
Joseph Driscoll: KK

With three premium pocket pairs being dealt, it was hardly a surprise to see all the chips find their way into the middle.

Gregory's aces stayed in front through the 7J3 flop and the 2 turn. Only a queen or king on the river could stop his stack from climbing to more than 300,000.

The dealer burned and put out the 9 river, changing nothing. Gregory more than doubled his stack, Driscoll was left with crumbs, and Coltman's Main Event came to an end.

Madsen Sent to the Rail in a Massive Pot

Level 9 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

Jeff Madsen in the hijack found himself all-in and at risk for 198,000 against Jared Passanante in the big blind.

Jeff Madsen: QQ All in
Jared Passanante: AK

Madsen was on his way to take a massive pot with queens on 426, but Passanante took the lead on the K turn. The 9 river changed nothing and Madsen was eliminated.

Chao Among Bigger Stacks

Level 9 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

James Darby raised to 3,500 in early position. Calvin Chao was in the cutoff and three-bet to 11,000, which Derby called.

Derby then led out for 10,000 on the 810J flop and doubled his sizing to 20,000 on the 6 turn. Chao called both times, after which the 10 river was checked to showdown.

Derby shook his head as he tabled 99 for a pair of nines. Chao had the better hand with AJ, raking in the pot with his top pair.
