Michael Stembera
Michael Stembera

Michael Stembera raised to 1,060,000 with just a few chips behind and Jacob Thibodeau three-bet jammed in the cutoff for slightly more. Stembera called.

Michael Stembera: 87 All in
Jacob Thibodeau: AK

The flop of A22 put Thibodeau far in front as the board finished out 610 to mark his elimination.

"Rebuy!" he joked before hitting the rail.

Nguyen Felted With Trips

Level 26 : Blinds 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante
Vy Nguyen
Vy Nguyen

From the big blind, Vy Nguyen led out for about 300,000 on a board of KJ24, and John O'Neal called from the cutoff.

The J completed the board, prompting Nguyen to check. O'Neal jammed, and Nguyen quickly called off his remaining 850,000 or so.

O'Neal tabled AJ for trip jacks, which was enough to earn him the pot and eliminate Nguyen, who revealed QJ for the same trips with a worse kicker.

Savas Drills the Turn to Double Through Liu

Level 26 : Blinds 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante
Daniel Savas
Daniel Savas

Ihar Soika opened to 160,000 from early position and was called by Daniel Savas on the button. Xingyu Liu then squeezed to 825,000 from the big blind, which got a fold from Soika, but a back-shove from Savas for 3,530,000 total. Liu quickly called to put Savas at risk, and hands were revealed.

Daniel Savas: KJAll in
Xingyu Liu: AK

Savas picked the wrong time to make a move, as he found himself dominated for his tournament life.

The A107 flop kept Liu ahead after pairing his ace, but the Q turn improved Savas to Broadway to leave Liu drawing to a chop at best.

The 3 river changed nothing, however, and Savas was awarded the large double-up for his bold play.

Mueller Coolers Manjares

Level 26 : Blinds 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante
Greg Mueller
Greg Mueller

Three players went to a flop of 5A5 where Justin Manjares bet 215,000 from early position. Only Greg Mueller called in middle position.

Manjares checked the 6 turn, and Mueller bet 500,000. Manjares called, and the K fell on the river. "One million," Mueller said, sliding forward two towers of green 25,000 chips, and Manjares quickly called.

Mueller showed QJ for a flush, and Manjares flashed AK as he mucked.

Cooler For Hess

Level 26 : Blinds 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante
Robert Hess
Robert Hess

Robert Hess raised to 160,000 from early position and Romain Lewis three-bet to 435,000 from the next seat. When the action got back to him, Hess ripped it in for 2,355,000, and Lewis quickly called.

Robert Hess : AA All in
Romain Lewis: KK

It was another one of poker's ultimate coolers, with Lewis on the wrong end of it.

The 5J22Q runout brought no escape for Lewis, who had to send around a third of his stack across the table to Hess.

Fives Enough for Chaudey

Level 26 : Blinds 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante
Christopher Chaudey
Christopher Chaudey

Christopher Chaudey raised to 160,000 in early position. Carlos Saucedo three-bet his button to 390,000, and Chaudey called.

Chaudey went on to check-call Saucedo's bets of 210,000 on the 624 flop and 475,000 on the J turn. The Q river was checked to showdown, where Chaudey tabled 55.

Sauceo mucked his cards, prompting Chaudey to jump up from his seat and run a victory lap.

"I was calling a shove," he then claimed when he returned to stack up his newly acquired chips.

Thibodeau Wins a Classic Flip; "Wesley the Nuts" Scores a Knockout

Level 26 : Blinds 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante
Ali Ayub
Ali Ayub

Jacob Thibodeau moved all in for 600,000 from early position, Brian Feck reshoved in middle position, and the rest of the table got out of the way.

Jacob Thibodeau: AK All in
Brian Feck: QQ

Thibodeau took the lead on the K65 flop with top pair, and he held on through the 4 turn and 8 river to secure the double-up.

At another table, Ali Ayub was all-in for 450,000 from middle position as Wesley Fei put him at risk in the cutoff.

Ali Ayub: KQ All in
Wesley Fei: A4

The flop came J35, while the 2 turn gave Fei a straight and left Ayub drawing dead. The river was the 8, and Ayub was sent to the rail.

"You should change your name to 'Wesley the Nuts'," Zhao Liu said to Fei.

"I told you, I only play the nuts. I played with him on the first day of the $5K. Nice guy," Fei replied after Ayub left the table.

Jumalon Takes From Stavila

Level 26 : Blinds 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante
Lucas Jumalon
Lucas Jumalon

Dan Stavila made it 160,000 to go from middle position, and Lucas Jumalon called from the big blind.

Jumalon and Stavila checked the 7A10 flop before Jumalon check-called Stavila's delayed continuation-bet of 240,000 on the K turn.

Jumalon checked for a final time on the 3 river, and Stavila fired 760,000. Jumalon took his time before settling on a call.

Stavila confidently tabled AK for top two pair, but it was second best to Jumalon's 1010 for a flopped set of tens.

25 Minutes Late to Day 6? Blame the Avocado Toast

Level 26 : Blinds 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante
Will Givens
Will Givens

Will Givens was 25 minutes late to the start of Day 6 today, but it wasn't due to an alarm clock malfunction or medical emergency. Rather, Givens told PokerNews that the universe told him to take things slow today, "So that's what I did."

“I was at the gym, and I went harder, meditated longer," Givens said during the first break. "I had the chips to do it. I just go with the energy. The energy said just relax. So that’s what I did. Got me some avocado toast and eggs."

Givens changed more than his breakfast order in preparation for the big Day 6. "Took a longer walk. Took a different way. Went outside, got some sun. I really was just in my own world. And now I got here.”

In the end, it may not have mattered much that Givens missed 20 percent of Level 25.

“I was card dead. So I think when I was gone, I was probably dead then too! The cards were just not following me this morning.”
