Smith Fires the River

Level 31 : Blinds 125,000/250,000, 250,000 ante

Brock Wilson raised to 500,000 in middle position, which Allan Sannier called also from middle position before Dylan Smith and Lauri Saaskilahti called from the cutoff and big blind.

The action then checked to Smith on a 2QQ flop, who bet 600,000. The bet drew folds from Saaskilahti and Wilson, but Sannier stuck around to see the 4 turn.

In a change of tactics, Sannier led out for 1,400,000, and Smith called.

Jason Kornegay
Jason Kornegay

The inmates are taking over the asylum.

Many players have been critical of the newly implemented shot clocks, but Jason Kornegay isn't one of them. He told the table he plays quickly.

"We've got the advantage now! These guys can't take time to run all the numbers now!"

One of those guys is his table mate Patrick Leonard, who quickly ran through his allotted six time banks. Leonard then played a pot with Kornegay as Leonard limped in and his fast-acting opponent checked his option in the big blind.

Leonard quickly bet 250,000 on the flop of 6510 and Kornegay called. Both players then checked on the 3 turn and again on the 9 river as Kornegay showed K6 to win the pot.
