Small One for Tang; Bigger One for Savas

Level 30 : Blinds 100,000/200,000, 200,000 ante

On the next deal Carlos Chadha Villamarin raised to 400,000 from the button and Savas came along from the small blind. Patrick Leonard let go of his hand in the big blind.

Savas check-called bet of 300,000 and 900,000 on the flop and turn for the board to read K8259. When final card hit the felt, Savas instantly jammed for Villamarin's remaining 1,875,000, and the latter snap-folded.

Shot Clocks Implemented Deep in WSOP Main Event for First Time

If you've tuned into the livestream yet for Day 7 of the WSOP Main Event, you've certainly noticed a major change that is already impacting the game.

For the first time ever in the 57-year history of poker's World Championship tournament, a shot clock has been implemented. The shot clock, or "Action Clock," isn't new to tournament poker. PGT and World Poker Tour (WPT) have been using it to speed up play and eliminate tanking for years.

But it's a drastic change deep in the biggest event of the year, which should benefit viewers on the ESPN+ livestream who are bothered by tanking, an issue that has come up many times in previous Main Event broadcasts. Others, however, don't like the shot clock implementation, including WSOP commentator and 2004 WSOP Main Event runner-up David Williams.

The action was joined as Han Feng had two players at risk from middle position. Akihiro Konishi was all in for 1,950,000 from the cutoff, and Marshall Daigle was all in for 2,175,000 from the big blind.

Akihiro Konishi: AK All in
Marshall Daigle: 1010 All in
Han Feng: AQ

Daigle took a firm lead on the 10K7 flop, with the 9 turn confirming his survival.

Although the A river gave Konishi top two pair, it was too little, too late, as his stack was pushed to Daigle, and he took his leave.

On the next deal, Villamarin raised to 400,000. Jason Kornegay three-bet to 1,150,000 and Villamarin called after using another time bank. Kornegay continued for 1,600,000 on the K53 flop and took down the pot.
