Vargas Rebuilds his Stack

Antonio Vargas opened for 500,000 and got called by Scott Horvath in the big blind. The flop came 627.

On the 7 turn, Horvath check-called Vargas continuation bet of 650,000 to see more of the community cards. Relentless, Vargas added more 1,425,000 chips to the growing pot after the action passed to him. Yet again, Horvath made the call.

Finally, Horvath led out with 1,525,000 which evoked a groan from Vargas. He called prompting Horvath to show 5Q. Vargas tabled J7 for turned trips.

Cohen Pressures Vargas to Fold

Kai Cohen opened to 480,000 and got a three-bet from Antonio Vargas, who made it 1,350,000. Cohen went beyond and four-bet 2,900,000, sending Vargas to the tank. He counted his chips and made the call to see the flop.

The flop came 388. Cohen kept the pressure high with a 2,300,000 bet. Vargas, cautious, still hung on to see another card.

Both players checked the 9 turn but on the river 3, Cohen took time to consider his option before pushing 7,550,000 chips leaving behind 50,000. Covering his face, he waited for Vargas to make his action, who started cracking his knuckles.

"Maybe we have the same hand," said Vargas as he mulled over his options. After some time, he folded his hand and asked for Cohen to show but was denied.

In the small blind, Malcolm Franchi completed but Antonio Vargas defended by raising to 700,000. Franchi stared Vargas down and called to see the flop.

Despite Franchi's intense stare, Vargas continued with 500,000 after action was passed to him on the 2J8 flop. Franchi called once again without taking his eyes off Vargas.

Vargas, unfazed, continued the pressure with 2,300,000 after a third check on the Q turn. Finally, Franchi looked away and threw his hand to the muck pile.
