Multi-Way Pot for Abudi

Level 11 : Blinds 3,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

Five ways to the Q53 flop; the action checked all the way to Jason Mercier on the button. He asked how many players were in the hand and then bet 13,000. Stephen Hubbard in the small blind and Lior Abudi from under the gun called.

They checked the 2 turn and the 10 river for Hubbard to declare fives and treys, flashing the 53.

Abudi had that beat with the KK75 for a flush, and Mercier mucked.

Barakat and Gonzalez Play Huge Pot

Level 11 : Blinds 3,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

Sergio Martinez Gonzalez raised to 18,000 in middle position and faced a three-bet to 62,000 from Youness Barakat on the button. The action returned to Gonzalez, who four-bet to 169,000. Undeterred, Barakat made it 590,000 to go, and Gonzalez called.

When the dealer laid the 784 flop on the felt, Gonzalez moved all in for roughly 565,000, and Barakat called.

Sergio Martinez Gonzalez: AAJ9 All in
Youness Barakat: AAQ2

Both players had aces, but Gonzalez had outs to win it outright with a flush draw and a gutshot, and they only increased on the J turn.

The Q river bore no effect, however, and the two split the pot.

Schindler and Vogelsang Double

Level 11 : Blinds 3,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

On a flop of 633, Maximilian Schindler was all-in for the last 65,000 and looked up by Nick Schulman to create the following showdown.

Maximilian Schindler: AK109 All in
Nick Schulman: QQ87

The K turn vaulted Schindler into the lead, and he held after the blank 2 river.

On a nearby table, Tom Vogelsang was then all-in for a severe short stack with most chips into the middle preflop when the rest went in after the J62J turn.

Tom Vogelsang: KJ97 All in
Sam Soverel: KQ62

The river was the 3, and Vogelsang's trip jacks were good enough for the double.

Ioannis Angelou Konstas was not as fortunate and lost the remainder of his short stack to the red-hot running Santhosh Suvarna.

The dealer spread a 8AK flop, and after Grech checked, Andreadis continued with a bet of 45,000. There was no resistance from Grech, who folded.

Mercier Takes it on the River

Level 11 : Blinds 3,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

Pakinai Lisawad raised to 18,000 in the hijack, and Jason Mercier called in the big blind.

Mercier check-called a bet of 12,000 on the Q5K flop, before the J turn checked through.

The 3 completed the board, and Mercier bet the pot, putting 56,000 into the middle. Lisawad used a time extension to consider, but ultimately chose to fold.

Level 11 : Blinds 3,000/5,000, 5,000 ante
Jesse Lonis
Jesse Lonis

On a flop of Q65, Jesse Lonis got his stack of 236,000 in against Viktor Blom and was at risk in the following showdown.

Jesse Lonis: QJ108 All in
Viktor Blom: KKQ6

Lonis had a pair of queens with a flush draw and was trailing Blom's pocket kings. The 2 turn was a blank, but Lonis spiked his flush on the 2 river to avoid an early reentry on Day 2.

One hand later, Tom Vogelsang raised and was three-bet by James Obst in the next seat for the Dutch player to call. The AA3 flop saw Vogelsang check-call for 23,000 before they checked the 8 turn. Vogelsang then checked the 7 river, and Obst's bet of 75,000 won the pot without resistance.

Nagy Chips Up Without Showdown

Level 11 : Blinds 3,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

Gergo Nagy raised to 18,000 under the gun. Santhosh Suvarna called in the next seat over, and Stephen Chidwick defended in the big blind.

Chidwick then led out for 16,000 on the 587 flop, prompting Nagy to casually drop in his entire stack of 90,000.

Suvarna quickly folded, and Chidwick followed suit, handing the pot to Nagy.

Jeffrey Hakim raised to 18,000 from middle position, and when the action folded to the tournament chip leader, Youness Barakat, in the big blind, he three-bet to 57,000.

Hakim responded with a four-bet to 174,000, and Barakat released his cards back to the dealer.
