Ryan Laplante
Ryan Laplante

A player in middle position opened with a raise to 27,000 and bracelet winner Ryan Laplante moved all in from the small blind for approximately 250,000. After a few moments of thought, the middle-position player called, and the cards were on their backs.

Laplante held {7-Spades}{7-Diamonds} and was significantly ahead of his opponent, who showed {6-Clubs}{6-Hearts}. The board ran out {J-Hearts}{8-Spades}{7-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}, Laplante's hand held, and he doubled up.

Matt Affleck Eliminates Another One

Level 21 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

Matt Affleck opened to 27,000 from the cutoff and the big blind reshoved for approximately 125,000. Affleck called and both players tabled their hands.

Affleck rolled over {7-Spades}{7-Hearts} and found himself racing against his opponent's {A-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}. The board ran out {8-Spades}{8-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}, Affleck's pocket pair held up, and his opponent was eliminated.

Christopher Haydt Building a Stack

Level 21 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

Christopher Haydt opened from under the gun for 25,000 and George Boyce moved all in directly to his left for just over 150,000.

The rest of the table folded and Haydt sighed as he eyed up Boyce’s stack before eventually deciding to call.

Haydt tuned over his {a-Diamonds}{q-Clubs} before seeing Boyce table his {a-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}.

The board ran out {7-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} with the turn delivering the dagger to the heart of Boyce’s tournament hopes.

It was bad news for the unlucky Boyce, but the pot propelled Haydt to close to the million-chip mark.

The mighty Colossus is on a small 15-minute break.

There are eight more levels to go with eliminations sure to slow as stacks get deeper.

Hunter Frey was in the big blind and called an open.

The dealer fanned {5-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{6-Clubs}.

Frey checked it to the raiser who continued for 37,000. Frey responded with a raise to 88,000 and was then met by three-bet to 139,000. Frey moved all in, which finally convinced his opponent to let his hand go, and Frey collected the pot without showdown and grew his stack to over 600,000.

Matt Affleck
Matt Affleck

A player in middle position limped in, the small blind completed, and Matt Affleck raised from the big blind to 200,000, putting the middle-position player to a decision for the remainder of his stack. He called, the small blind folded, and the two players tabled their hands.

Affleck held {K-Spades}{Q-Clubs} and his opponent held {A-Spades}{9-Spades}. Affleck was an underdog preflop, but the board ran out {K-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{K-Clubs} to give him a boat, eliminate his opponent, and put his stack over the 500,000-chip mark.

Dealers Choice next for Walter Treccarichi

Level 20 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante
Walter Treccarichi
Walter Treccarichi

We arrived at the table to see that Walter Treccarichi had fewer chips than what he started the day with. He explained that a player at the table only had 1,000 left and won six all-ins in a row, including two of them against Treccarichi. Treccarichi moved all in right after for 55,000. The player on the button called him, who had him covered.

Walter Treccarichi had {K-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} in his hand but his opponent was ahead with {A-Clubs}{8-Clubs}. The flop {Q-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} gave Treccarichi a flush draw, but the {8-Hearts} on the turn and the {6-Hearts} river did not help him.

Next, Treccharichi plans to jump into the Dealers Choice and Tag Team events.
