Givens' Main Event Comes to an End

Level 18 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Will Givens
Will Givens

In the previous hand, Will Givens had lost nearly all his chips in an all-in clash that has left him with a mere 21,000. The following hand, Marco Slacanoc raised to 25,000 in early position, Givens called all in, and Pierre Mothes called in late position.

Slacanac bet 30,000 on the {Q-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} flop and Mothes called to build up the side pot as well. Slacanac bet 75,000 on the {K-Diamonds} turn and Mothes spent ages in the tank. The floor was called for time, but as soon as the timer started Mothes put in a raise. Slacanac quickly open-folded {A-Clubs}{A-Hearts}

Will Givens: {J-Clubs}{9-Spades}
Pierre Mothes: {6-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}

Givens was drawing dead, making the {10-Hearts} river a mere formality, and he finished in 76th place for €15,074.

Luiz Duarte
Luiz Duarte

It folded to Pierre Mothes who raised to 30,000. Next to act was Luiz Duarte who, according to Dietrich Fast who was remonstrating with the tournament director, was stalling on most hands in order to ladder.

Duarte then raised to 57,000 leaving himself 5,000 behind. The remaining players all folded, before Mothes called.

The flop came {k-Spades}{6-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}. Mothes announced all in and Duarte threw in his last 5,000 chip.

Pierre Mothes: {k-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}
Luiz Duarte: {a-Clubs}{q-Clubs}

Mothes had flopped a pair, and although Duarte picked up a flush draw on the {8-Clubs} turn, the river was the {4-Spades} and he was eliminated.

Sekularac showed {a-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} and Ettedgi showed {7-Hearts}{4-Hearts}. Four Shoves At Table #149

Level 18 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

It's not really a post-bubble bonanza yet — most of the players have deep enough stacks --, but at Table #149 four all-ins happened in a row. Not one of them ended up getting called.

The first, second and fourth shove were all courtesy of Thomas Hammerl, while Ming Xi shoved once in between. Hammerl moved himself up to 230,000 with the three uncontested shoves.
