Daniel Negreanu

It's not often that you will find Daniel Negreanu playing a multi-day €500 buy-in tournament, but due to the WSOP Player of the Year implications, Negreanu is fighting tooth and nail in this tournament. He is, however, giving the best experience to those at his table as they appear to be in constant laughter.

Negreanu raised to 1,000 in the cutoff and was called by the small blind. Idan One three-bet to 5,100 in the big blind and only Negreanu called. The flop came {j-Spades}{6-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} and both players checked to the {7-Spades} on the turn.

"I needed clubs," Negreanu announced. "Not one club out there."

One tossed in another bet of 5,100 and Negreanu obliged to see the {k-Spades} on the turn. One checked this time and Negreanu moved all in for 13,700. "I like that card. Time to push all of it."

One deliberated for a moment but decided to lay his hand down. "Show the bluff!" he shouted.

Negreanu whipped over {9-Clubs}{8-Clubs} for nine-high and the table went into another frenzy.

Strobel Back to Starting Stack After Near Triple Up

Level 6 : 200/400, 400 ante

Julien Hernandez raised to 800 in middle position and Adrian Strobel shipped all in for 8,700 on the button. Andrea Ricci also pushed all in for 5,300 in the big blind and Hernandez called, covering both players.

Adrian Strobel: {a-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}
Julien Hernandez: {a-Clubs}{9-Clubs}
Andrea Ricci: {8-Spades}{8-Hearts}

The dealer fanned the flop of {k-Spades}{j-Diamonds}{10-Spades} and Strobel flopped a straight to take a stranglehold on the hand. The {6-Hearts} on the turn and the {2-Clubs} on the river gave Strobel a near triple up and Ricci was eliminated.

Beran Puts a Dent in Rotter's Stack

Level 6 : 200/400, 400 ante

Jakub Rotter had been cruising through the first portion of the day, building his stack up to around 100,000 chips already. However, with the board reading {k-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}, Rotter tossed in a pot-sized bet of 12,000 from the small blind. David Beran shoved all in for 14,400 and Rotter obviously called.

Beran whipped over {6-Hearts}{5-Hearts} for a straight and Rotter's {a-Hearts}{a-Diamonds} was left drawing dead. The {j-Hearts} completed the board and Beran scored a double up, putting a small dent in Rotter's stack.

Wittmann Gets Away with a Bluff

Level 5 : 200/300, 300 ante

Markus Wittman made it 800 to go in the hijack and was called by Pascal Lardy on the button and Michael Horn in the big blind. The flop came {q-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{3-Clubs} and Wittmann continued with a bet of 1,000. Lardy and Horn both called to see the {6-Spades} on the turn.

All three players checked and the {j-Hearts} completed the board. Horn tossed in a bet of 5,500 and Wittmann thought for a minute before making it 12,500. Lardy quickly folded but Horn went into the tank. After a couple of minutes passed, Horn finally let his cards go. Wittmann showed {k-Clubs}{8-Diamonds} for complete air as he raked in the pot.

Verbakel Busts Pazowski

Level 5 : 200/300, 300 ante

Rafael Ben opened the action with a minraise from middle position and Chucri Lawandos called from the cutoff, before Remco Verbakel makes it 2,000 from the small blind. Marek Pazowski continued with a four-bet to 6,000 from the big blind which Ben and Verbakel called.

The flop came {a-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}{7-Hearts}, Verbakel checked, Pazowski bet 3,500 and both players called.

The turn was the {2-Clubs} and this time Pazowski shoved after Verbakel's check, with Ben folding but Verbakel called quickly.

Marek Pazowski: {a-Spades}{k-Spades}
Remco Verbakel: {2-Spades}{2-Hearts}

Verbakel turned a full house and Pazowski needed help to stay in the tournament. The {5-Hearts} on the river didn't change anything and Pazowski hit the rail.
