Pudel Bad Beats Kim Two Away From the Money

Level 17 : Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Gab Yong Kim
Gab Yong Kim

Bruno Desimoni opened the action with a raise to 25,000 in the hijack and Gab Yong Kim pushed all-in on the button for 205,000. Nils Pudel tanked for more than two minutes in the small blind, glanced over at Desimoni's stack and the tournament info before placing a single chip for the call, Desimoni folded.

The other tables finished their hands and the cards were revealed.

Gab Yong Kim: AK
Nils Pudel: AQ

There were some groans from bystanders when the Q appeared in the window followed by the 82. Nothing changed with the 3 since neither player had a club in their hand. The 2 fell on the river and Kim was eliminated two spots away from the money, the field is now on the stone bubble.

Weiran Pu
Weiran Pu

Weiran Pu moved all in for his last 170,000 in the hijack and was immediately at risk when Alex Keating called in the cutoff. The rest of the table folded, leaving Pu heads up on the bubble.

Weiran Pu: AQ
Alex Keating: AA

Pu ran into Keating's pocket aces but did pick up a flush draw on the 7K2 flop. He was unable to improve further on the 2 turn or K river, as Keating took down a nice pot while Pu bowed out in 124th place.

All 123 remaining players are now in the money, with the tournament no longer hand for hand.

Dvoress Done In by Cruel River

Level 17 : Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Daniel Dvoress
Daniel Dvoress

In a blind versus blind battle, Yulian Bogdanov bet 60,000 on a flop of QQK and Daniel Dvoress then raised to 135,000.

Bogdanov called and the 10 fell on the turn. He checked over to Dvoress, and Dvoress then bet 165,000. Bogdanov came back with an all-in shove and sent Dvoress deep in the tank.

Dvoress spent several minutes shaking his head and counting out his stack before calling for around 500,000. He turned over Q7 for trips, while Bogdanov had K10.

"I knew you had a queen," Bogdanov said as he was one card away from handing over the massive double up. The river, though, brought the K and Bogdanov spiked a full house to send Dvoress crashing to the rail in sudden fashion.

Sammartino Scores Huge Double Through Kabir

Level 17 : Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Dario Sammartino
Dario Sammartino

Picking up the action on the 8539 turn, Dario Sammartino checked and then called a bet worth 200,000 by the table chip leader Keneshka Kabir from one seat over.

Sammartino checked again the 4 on the river and Kabir took just a few seconds before announcing all-in.

That sent the Italian into the tank for five minutes as the end of the level was reached. Sammartino then called and Kabir revealed his Q10 for a bluff gone wrong.

Sammartino slammed his AK on the felt for a hero-call with ace-king high and doubled for 512,000 to put a big dent into Kabir's stack.

Kenjic and Al Labani Find Their Fate

Level 18 : Blinds 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante
Yulian Bogdanov
Yulian Bogdanov

Jovan Kenjic was left short and jammed around eight blinds with king-ten. He was up against the KK of Hyunsup Kim and spiked a gutshot on the J92 flop. The K turn gave Kim a set of kings and no queen came to the rescue on a blank 6 river.

One table over, Hael Al Labani was sent to the payout desk as well.

Yulian Bogdanov opened to 32,000 on the button and Al Labani made it 127,000 to go in the small blind. Bogdanov clicked it back to 227,000 and then called the shove by his table neighbour on the other side of the dealer for what appeared to be 637,000.

Hael Al Labani: AQ
Yulian Bogdanov: AK

The kicker played on the J968A runout as the rich got richer.

Kevin Roethlisberger jammed all in for 80,000 from the cutoff and the action folded to big blind Viktor Blom, who made the call.

Viktor Blom: AK
Kevin Roethlisberger: QJ

"I took a picture with this guy earlier this week, and now he is going to bust me," Roethlisberger joked.

Roethlisberger was right, as the KJ5QA runout gave both players two pair, but Blom was awarded the pot with the higher one.

Amsellem and Eljach Continue Their Tussles

Level 18 : Blinds 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante
Jacob Amsellem
Jacob Amsellem

On the river of a board reading Q1010J6, Jacob Amsellem bet 111,000 out of the big blind.

"What do you have, a flush?" Omar Eljach in the cutoff inquired. Both engaged in some chatter back and forth, during which Eljach asked if ace-king was any good.

"Oh man, this is the best hand I had all day," Eljach added and folded a few seconds later.

Amsellem offered to show one card and Eljach picked the one on the left. Ioannis Angelou-Konstas was sitting the closest and flipped over the 2.

The guessing game then began and Eljach nodded when Angelou-Konstas put him on pocket kings.
