A pot of around 150,000 had brewed by the river, on a board of 10♦9♥3♦K♠3♣, in a hand between Jozef Cibicek in early position, and Elia Salerno in the big blind.
Salerno checked, and Cibicek fired out a bet of 100,000, leaving himself only 6,000 behind. Salerno thought it through for a long time, but made the call.
Cibicek turned over K♦Q♠ for turned top pair kings, and Salerno mucked.
Viktor Blom three-bet jammed a short stack of around 40,000 and was quickly called by Florian Thumm.
Viktor Blom: A♦4♦
Florian Thumm: K♣J♣
The board ran out 9♠2♣2♠J♦7♥ and Thumm paired the jack on the turn to send Blom to the rail soon after the end of the late registration period.
Dimitrios Gkatzas raised to 10,000 from the cutoff with Georgios Zisimopoulos calling on the button and Carlos Spoddig defending the big blind.
Once it checked to Zisimopoulos on a flop of 10♥2♣6♣, he decided to bet 16,000. Spoddig folded, but Gkatzas stuck around with a call.
A 9♦ on the turn checked through for the 5♣ to complete the board. Gkatzas checked again, then faced a bet of 25,000 by Zisimopoulos. Gkatzas folded after a few moments, and Zisimopoulos pulled in the pot.
Max Avela opened the cutoff to 11,000 and Marcello Miniucchi called on the button. Andrei Spataru was in the big blind and also called.
On the 3♦9♥10♥ flop, all three checked to the 6♦ turn, where Spataru led for 11,000. Avela got out of the way, and Miniucchi called.
A 3♥ on the river paired the board and brought in the front door flush draw, which drew two quick checks from both players. Spataru then tabled J♣9♦ for a pair of nines, an that was good enough to win the pot.
Michael Sklenicka raised to 18,000 in the small blind, Daniel Bussmann three-bet to 53,000 in the big blind, and Sklenicka called.
Both players checked the 9♥8♥6♥ flop. Sklenicka then bet 37,000 on the 4♠ turn, and Bussmann called.
The river was the 3♠ and Sklenicka bet 135,000. Bussmann gathered the chips to call, let out a deep sigh, then stuck them in the middle. Sklenicka turned over 9♣9♦ for a set.
"Come on," Bussmann said, angrily flicking his cards away. As if Bussmann's frustrations weren't already apparent, while Sklenicka was stacking up the pot, he slammed the table with his hand.
Alexander Fischl got his last 10,000 or so chips into the middle preflop with Emilien Pitavy trying to bust him.
Alexander Fischl: J♣J♠
Emilien Pitavy: A♣7♦
Fischl needed his pocket jacks to hold to begin his spin-up in the Main Event. However, it wasn't to be as the 5♣A♥4♥Q♠7♥ runout improved Pitavy to two pair, sending Fischl to the exit.
