Sekler with Sixes

Level 4 : Blinds 300/500, 500 ante

Giuseppe Zarbo opened to 1,000 from middle position. Anthony Zinno to his left three-bet to 2,300 and was called by Nikola Sekler on the button. Zarbo called as well.

Zinno continued for 2,500 on a flop of 292 and only Sekler called. He fired a very small second barrel to 1,000 on the K and was called again, then checked the 4 river.

Sekler checked back with 66 and won this one against Zinno's missed flush draw with QJ.

WSOP Crushers Without a Bracelet
WSOP Crushers Without a Bracelet

One question always gets asked in the build-up to the World Series of Poker (WSOP): who are the best players still chasing their first bracelet? It's something PokerNews looks at every year.

But here's another angle worth exploring. Which players have actually won the most money at the WSOP without ever getting their hands on one of poker's most coveted prizes?

Some players have racked up millions in WSOP earnings, building their totals on one monster score, while others have chipped away year after year grinding the series.

Shaun Deeb Denied By Quads Again in Heads-Up for WSOP Bracelet

Level 4 : Blinds 300/500, 500 ante

Shaun Deeb came agonizingly close to winning his ninth World Series of Poker bracelet for the second time at the 2026 World Series of Poker Europe, but once again saw his bid denied.

For the second time in less than a week, the final hand of heads-up ended with his opponent making quads, as France's Gilles Silbernagel captured the €565 COLOSSUS title for €165,000 at King’s Casino inside Hilton Prague.

Silbernagel defeated Deeb in the final duel to secure the biggest win of his career since 2018, denying the two-time WSOP Player of the Year yet another shot at history. Deeb had previously fallen short in the €3,300 PLO Mixed, where he also lost the final hand of heads-up to quads and collected €81,784.

Had Deeb closed it out, he would have become the fastest player to reach nine bracelets, a record currently held by Phil Ivey.

Bahri Sends Fitoussi into the Tank

Level 3 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante

Bruno Fitoussi raised to 1,000 from under the gun before Safwane Bahri made it 3,200 from the cutoff. It folded back to Fitoussi, and he four-bet to 11,500. Bahri called.

Bahri called a bet of 5,500 on the 886 flop before the A turn checked through to the 6 river. Fitoussi checked, prompting Bahri to fire out 15,000. Fitoussi went deep into the tank for several minutes, burning up five time bank cards before painfully returning his cards to the dealer.

Wisbrod with Aces

Level 3 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante

Barak Wisbrod raised to 800 from early position and was called twice before Joey Weissman in the small blind squeezed to 600. Wisbrod four-bet to 11,000 to make the next two players fold but Weissman called.

Wisbrod continued for 3,000 on a flop of K67 and was called, then fired a second barrel to 15,000 on the 7 turn. Weissman check-called.

Weissman checked the 10 river and Wisbord eventually checked-back with AA. Weissman didn't have a better hand with KJ.

Akmert Cracks Trips and Aces with Lucky River

Level 3 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante

There was around 14,000 on the middle on the 9927 board, with three players in the mix.

Corel Theuma checked from the big blind before the cutoff jammed for 16,000. Erdem Akmert reshoved for 21,000 and Theuma called as the covering stack.

Cutoff: AAAll in
Erdem Akmert: 88All in
Corel Theuma: J9

Theuma had both opponents drawing to two outs, but the 8 river put Akmert from worst to first. His unlikely two-outer sealed him the checkmark with a full house, and boosted his stack to 72,000 while the cutoff departed dejectedly.
