Just after getting his newly acquired chips, Scott Matte found himself all in preflop once again from under the gun and was called by Qing Liu from the hijack.

Liu didn't like what he saw when the cards were flipped over and for good reason as the runout left him with just 20,000 after doubling Matte.

Liu, who won the WPT Venetian Main Event in March for $752,880, was eliminated a few hands later.

Shing Dispatches a WSOP Bracelet Winner

Philip Shing raised to 9,000 from the hijack and the player on the button called. David Lambard, who in 2019 won a gold bracelet in the WSOP Event #36: $3,000 No-Limit Hold'em Shootout for $207,193, then three-bet all in for 69,000 from the small blind and Shing called. The player on the button folded and the hands were turned up.

Lambard was in need of some help but didn't get much on the flop. The turn gave him a gutshot straight draw but it didn't come in as the bricked on the river.

Jesse Linos raised to 9,500 from the cutoff, Jerold Saeman three-bet to 22,000 from the small blind and Sandeep Pulusani four-bet jammed for 30,000 from the small blind.

Both Linos and Saeman called bringing the flop. Saeman instantly moved all in and Lino released his hand.

Schulman Flops Set But Can't Catch Milliard's Flush

The player in the cutoff raised to 10,000 and the short-stacked Nick Schulman reraised all in for 16,000. Julian Milliard was in the big blind and popped it to 48,000, which prompted the original raiser to get out of the way.

It was a flip and things got interesting when the flop hit both players. Schulman flopped top set but needed to pair the board as Milliard flopped a club flush.

Unfortunately for the three-time World Series of Poker bracelet winner, neither the turn nor river was what he needed.

Action on the table folded around to Joe Kuether who raised to 12,000 on the button and then a series of raises with the small blind player led to Kuther calling their 214,000 all in.

Kuether was well ahead of his opponent with his pocket queens and the flop improved his hand to top set. The turn left Kuether's opponent drawing dead and the river eliminated them from the tournament.
