Throwback Thursday: Behind the Scenes of ESPN at WSOP 2013

Sharelines
  • Lynn Gilmartin gets a glimpse at what it takes to produce the WSOP coverage on ESPN.

The ESPN coverage of the World Series of Poker 2016 kicked off on Sept. 11, 2016 and you can find the full schedule of coverage here.

There has already been tons of exciting action in the first few episodes. After the first two episodes, PokerNews writer Martin Harris broke down some of the most interesting hands to see how he would have played in the same tough spot. It should come as no surprise that Harris focused on Table Talk when reviewing the following two episodes. Harris will continue to provide this interactive breakdown throughout ESPN's coverage so be sure to return to PokerNews after each episode airs to test your own poker skills.

In the meantime, here is a look behind the scenes of the ESPN coverage of the World Series of Poker in 2013. Lynn Gilmartin pulls back the curtain and explores what it takes to create captivating stories in interviews with stars Kara Scott and Lon McEachern and others. Have a look at what you might not see in the finished product.
