Throwback Thursday: Dan Shak Wins $100K Challenge

The Main Event of The Big One For One Drop Invitational is kicking off on Oct. 14. With 35 confirmed players, many in the poker community have been wondering about the identities of the players, as well as how many will end up showing up. But one player we know will be there, and with a huge crowd trailing him, is Dan Shak.

Dan Shak is a very accomplished poker player, particularly in the high-stakes world, who simultaneously maintains a successful career off the felt. For his One Drop buy-in this year, the Renaissance man decided to open up 50 percent of his buy-in on YouStake.com with ZERO markup! Shak is very active in the charity world, so it should come as no surprise that he was willing to share this unique opportunity with anyone willing to take a gamble and hoping for a sweat.

Shak has played with the best in the world at the highest levels and risen to the top on many occasions. For this week's Throwback Thursday we take a look back at the 2010 Aussie Millions $100K Challenge. Back in 2010, these types of events were in their infancy. However, just like today, they attracted the cream of the crop. Shak came out on top in this event and bested the one and only Phil Ivey heads up for the win.

Here is a look at Dan Shak's humble response during his winner interview with Lynn Gilmartin.
