TBT: Tony G Bets he can Outrun an Athlete

Poker Player Tony G bets he can outrun former basketball player Nick Lackovic

Today, the poker world is abuzz after details came out about the buyout terms of a $100K solitary confinement prop bet. Prop bets are not uncommon in the poker world, so for this week's Throwback Thursday, we decided to feature an oldie, but a goodie.

Back in 2009, PokerNews held its own poker tournament. The PokerNews Cup Alpine took place at a five star luxury ski resort atop the Austrian Alps in Saalbach-Hinterglemm. Side note: if any poker tournament executives are reading this, I highly encourage you bring back this stop and fly me out to cover the event.

Late one night at the event, David Saab, who I presume had more than just the one glass of wine he is holding in his hand throughout the video, bets Tony G that he cannot run faster than former pro basketball player, Nick Lackovic. The twist? Lackovic has to run backwards while Tony G can run forwards.

The bet is placed at $7,500 and the 200m "race course" is agreed upon. Can Tony G outrun an athlete in the wee hours of the night in the cold to win $7,500?

Watch to find out!
