Poker Pro Flops Aces Full and Loses to Quads for Massive Pot in WSOP Main Event
Davidi Kitai will need to spin it up in the WSOP Main Event after having lost one of the sickest coolers you'll see all tournament.
The Belgian poker superstar has nearly $12 million in The Hendon Mob live tournament cashes. But it isn't looking good for him to add to that total in poker's World Championship event.
What a Gross Hand
As reported by PokerNews' Maxime Taldir, Kitai was spotted with just 1,400 chips shortly after the second break, a break he went on with above his 60,000-chip starting stack. He found the dream spot to increase his stack with A♠A♣ with the board showing A♥5♠5♥2♦J♦.
His opponent, Michael Leib, was doing exactly what he wanted — helping him build a pot. Leib moved all in for roughly 50,000 and received a call. A double-up in the Day 1d session was coming for Kitai, right? Wrong. Leib turned over 5♦5♣ for quads, leaving Kitai with around five big blinds. Unfortunately for Kitai, a three-time WSOP bracelet winner, there's no bad beat jackpot in tournament poker.
He would spin it up a bit, however, reaching 18,000 before long.
The hand is likely the worst cooler thus far in the 2026 WSOP Main Event, as of the dinner break in the final Day 1 starting flight. But TV star Aylar Lie hit aces full with ace-king and ran into quads to bust from the Main Event late in the Day 1c session on Saturday.
Lie had A♥K♦ on a board of A♠Q♣4♠A♦4♥ and called off her remaining 38,000 chips on the river. Her opponent, Renan Revinthis, had 4♦4♣ for quads to ship the pot.
Day 1d had over 4,400 players registered at the dinner break. Registration remains up for two levels into both Day 2 flights on Monday and Tuesday. It appears it will be a close call on reaching 10,000 entrants.
