Danny Tang is a Hong Kong poker player best known for his prowess in high-stakes live cash games and tournaments. The Triton poker ambassador has one World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelet and more than $36 million in live cashes, ranking him number one in Hong Kong.
According to The Hendon Mob Database, Tang has live tournament cashes dating back to September 2013. Until June 2016, all but three of Tang's 22 cashes came from events in the United Kingdom or Ireland, including his runner-up finish in the $1,100 WPT National Nottingham event that netted him a career-best $130,263.
After competing at the 2016 WSOP in Las Vegas, where he cashed five times, Tang began to spread his wings and play live events around the world, particularly in Asia. Tang enjoyed many five-figure scores, but it was his victory in the €10,300 PokerStars Championship High Roller in Prague in December 2017, which paid €381,000, that stood out from the crowd.
Tang put together a deep run in the 2018 WSOP Main Event, finishing 31st for $230,475. Later that year, Tang finished fourth in the same €10,000 EPT Prague High Roller he'd previously won, and reeled in €197,720.
In 2019, Tang began playing in Triton Poker Super High Roller events with immediate success. He was the runner-up in the Triton Montenegro Main Event in May 2019 and won $1,796,498. Three months later, Tang became a WSOP bracelet winner, taking down the $50,000 No-Limit Hold'em High Roller for $1,608,406. These results were the catalyst for Tang becoming a regular in the highest buy-in events worldwide.
Six-figure prizes became the norm for Tang, particularly in Triton Poker events. In August 2023, Tang helped himself to two massive prizes in the space of a week at the Triton Poker Super High Roller Series London. He finished fifth in the $200,000 8-Handed event for $1,247,000 before winning a $60,000 NLHE 8-Handed event six days later for another $1,600,000.
Two more seven-figure hauls followed in October in Monte Carlo, where he finished third in a $100,000 buy-in event for $1,296,000 and won a $50,000 buy-in event for $1,580,000.
At the 2024 WSOP, Tang came agonisingly close to winning a second bracelet, finishing second in the $50,000 Pot-Limit Omaha High Roller for $1,400,217. Following more than a dozen prizes worth more than $500,000, Tang got his hands on $1,103,000 after finishing fourth in the $150,000 NLHE Triton 8-Handed event at the 2025 WSOP Paradise.
