Everyones Involved

Brian Biggs limped from UTG +1 along with Leo Boxell and Norah Greer behind him, before action came to Octavian Voegele in the hijack seat. Voegele would have no limping, as he made it 800 to see a flop. All three players thought it wasn't too much to make the call and we would see some cards.

Flop: {7-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{7-Clubs}

Biggs was first to act and checked to Leo Boxell, who pushed out 1,200. Greer made the call, along with Voegele and Biggs also paying to see a turn. The card that fell was the {3-Hearts} and this time all the players checked to Voegele who pushed out a 2,500-chip bet. Only Biggs would make the call, while Boxell and Greer would get out of the way.

The repeat three with the {3-Spades} on the river would see Biggs lead this time, sending 5,500 into the pot. Voegele looked pained and let out a deep sigh as he managed to utter the word, "call".

Almost as soon as the word came out of Voegele's mouth, Biggs' cards were in the muck as Voegele took in the pot and showed his {10-Hearts}{10-Spades}.

Call Or Twelve Hundred?

Level 2 : 75/150, 0 ante

There was some laughing going on over at Table 1 when a small mistake was made by Nicholas Wright on the river with a board showing {a-Spades}{2-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{8-Hearts}.

Wright was first to act in the hand against John Harman, with Wright throwing out 300 on the river into a pot of around 1,200. At this point Harmen said "call," throwing in his 300 worth of chips. At this point Wright would usually have to table his hand, but strangely he then threw out 1,200. The players around the table look bewlidered as Wright didnt catch on to the fact he had made an error. After a few moments some players pointed out that Wright had already bet and Harmen called.

"Oh, i thought you said '1,200'," said Wright as he turned over {a-Hearts}{k-Spades}.

Harman mucked his hand and along with Wright and the rest of the players at the table, had a bit of a laugh.

Barer Beats Bower

We came to the action with a flop showing {7-Spades}{9-Hearts}{j-Clubs} and Brad Bower up in a hand against two opponents, including Amichai Barer. When play was checked to Bower he would make it 425 to see a turn and with one player folding, Barer would call and continue.

The {k-Spades} on the turn would see Barer check-call a bet of 1,250 from Bower and the {j-Diamonds} would land on the river. Again Barer would go for the check-call, with Bower making it 3,200 this time.

When Bower tabled his {a-Hearts}{10-Spades} it wouldn't be good enough for the straight of Barer as he turned over {q-Hearts}{10-Hearts}.

Take A Seat Dodds

Joel Dodds has only just arrived at his table but is already getting involved in the action.

Play was started by Dodds from under the gun, where he opened to 300. He recieved calls from the player in the hijcak seat and Norah Greer on the button.

The flop of {k-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} landed on the felt and Dodds led for 525 prompting a fold from one opponent, while Greer made the call to see the {j-Hearts} hit the turn. Again Dodds opted to lead, this time for 850 and again Greer called.

The river brought about the {7-Clubs} and both Dodds and Greer checked, with Dodds tabling his {k-Spades}{q-Spades}, his pair of kings good enough to trump the jacks of Greer, with her {j-Clubs}{q-Clubs} being flung into the muck.

KK, JJ, BB

We have already seen a big hand over at what we dubbed the "feature table" with the action kicking off with Brian Biggs opening to 300 and geting calls from Joshua Jurcic in the cutoff seat and Karib Karib in the big blind.

Before the reporting of this hand continues, we would be amis not to mention the hectic amount of alliteration featured in the names of the players involved in this hand. In the hand we have the initials B.B, K.K and J.J and thats alot of alliteration without even mentioning the 'big blind'. It is really rare reporting on players with names such as this, but the reporting resumes!

The flop was dealt {j-Spades}{7-Clubs}{q-Clubs} and Karib checked before Biggs raised to 650. Jurcic called, at which point Karib check-raised to 3,700. Biggs folded and Jurcic moved all-in. Karib cnap called and the players turned their hands over.

Jurcic: {q-Spades}{q-Hearts}
Karib: {j-Hearts}{7-Hearts}

The set of Jurcic would be dominating the two-pair of Karib and when the board ran blanks it was a big stack early for Jurcic and Karib is now crippled.

The 'Feature' Table

Level 1 : 50/100, 0 ante

While all four tables have some strong players sitting around the felt, it is Table 5 which is shaping up to be the "feature" table with the likes of Alicia Sale, Norah Greer, Karib Karib, 2011 ANZPT Adelaide Champion Octavian Voegele and 2011 APPT Melbourne Main Event Champion, Leo Boxell. Also set to sit at this table is Joel Dodds, but his seat remains empty at the moment.

There are few other players who are set to play today, including David “dasve798111” Allan and Tony Hachem, but at this stage their seats remain empty. With Queenstown offering so much to do, it seems some players would rather be out and amongst the action off the felt, than play poker.

Go, Go, Go

Level 1 : 50/100, 0 ante

With Alicia Sale being presented with a PokerStars.net snowboard as a bonus for her win in one of the Snowfest side events, the dealers have finally been told to shuffle up and deal!

There are currently four tables set up in the tournament area, so we will be hoping to see a couple of late registrations.
