Handy Damelian Double

Level 18 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Robert Damelian recently got all his chips in holding {a-Spades}{9-Spades} on a {9-Diamonds}{j-Spades}{5-Diamonds} against Jason Gray's {a-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}. Damelian just needed to dodge some diamonds and that's exactly what he did on the {5-Clubs} turn and the {4-Clubs} river.

Double for Zalac

Level 18 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

The battle between Ivan Zalac and Jazz Mathers has continued with Zalac extracting some revenge. The chips were in preflop with Zalac's {k-Hearts}{k-Spades} holding true against Mathers' {j-Spades}{j-Diamonds} as the board was spread {4-Spades}{9-Spades}{6-Spades}{3-Hearts}{4-Hearts}.

Zalac doubles to 340,000 with Mathers now getting desperate with 160,000.

Mathers Makes Zalac Pay

Level 18 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

We arrived at the table just as Jazz Mathers and Ivan Zalac checked their options on a {3-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{9-Hearts} flop. The {q-Spades} fell on the turn and Mathers bet out 12,000 which was called. With the {9-Spades} completing the board, Mathers reached for his chips and bet out 61,000. Zalac tanked for over a minute before finally making the call.

Mathers then casually tabled his {j-Clubs}{9-Clubs} for trips which was enough to take down the pot.

Then There Were 18

Level 18 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Jason Gray opened with a raise to 23,000 from early position before Michael Fadersen three-bet to 50,000. Action folded back to Gray who quickly called to take a flop of {9-Clubs}{6-Spades}{7-Diamonds}.

Gray was first to act and he decided to lead with a healthy bet of 80,000. Fadersen thought for a few moments before declaring himself all in for around 280,000. We didn't have to wait for a count though as Gray insta-called with {9-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} for top set! Even more surprising was the Fadersen opened {7-Clubs}{6-Clubs} for two pair in a rather brutal flop.

The turn was the {k-Diamonds} and river the {2-Clubs} to see Fadersen bundled to the rail as Gray climbs to 1.1 million to be with the chip leaders at 18 players remain.

Bye Bye Tino

Level 18 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Tino Lechich has just been eliminated in 20th place. The final hand of Lechich's tournament saw the veteran of Australian poker shoved from the hijack holding {k-Clubs}{q-Clubs}. Bowdy Tolhopf looked down at {a-Hearts}{k-Hearts} from the button and made the call.

By the time the dealer had spread out a {j-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{4-Spades}{10-Spades} to the turn, Lechich started calling for some straight cards. However, the {5-Hearts} was no good and Lechich was sent home.

Naz Snapped Up by The Croc

Level 18 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

"Wish you had more chips so I could fold," we heard Billy Argyros say as we made our way to Table 10 to find Naz Sibaei all-in holding {a-Hearts}{q-Clubs} against Argyros' {a-Spades}{6-Spades}.

Sibaei will now also be wishing Argyros folded as the board ran out {3-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{9-Spades} to send Sibaei home in 21st place.
