Udayakumar Sends Chen to the Rail

Level 10 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

On a {5-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{8-Hearts} flop Pete Chen checked to Arravind Udayakumar who bet 2,500. Chen then check-raised all in for 24,300. Udayakumar counted out the chips and called.

Pete Chen: {5-Clubs}{9-Clubs}
Arravind Udayakumar: {k-Spades}{j-Hearts}

Udayakumar was all in with a flush draw to send Chen to the rail, and he duly hit it on the {k-Hearts} turn. Chen could still make a full house to stay alive but the {8-Clubs} river was the wrong board card to pair and he was eliminated.

Chan Loses Two Hands in a Row and Busts

Level 10 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante
William Chan
William Chan

This wasn't the lucky level for William Chan as he lost two hands in a row to leave the field right after the end of registration.

He talked to Pokernews right after his bust-out hand and explained that he first lost with ace-queen versus his opponent's king-jack in a preflop all in situation. The flop brought an ace and a queen, but a ten on the river gave a straight to his opponent.

Chan had 35,000 before the previous hand and was left with 20,000 after it, which he lost with {a-Hearts}{k-Diamonds} versus his opponent's {j-Clubs}{10-Clubs} in another preflop all in. The board ran out {3-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{3-Spades}{4-Spades}{2-Diamonds}, and Chan hit the rail.

"I got up to 70k chips", he told us after the hand, adding that "i should have slept at this point and just advance to Day 2".

He will have a second chance tomorrow, though.

Takashima Cracks Odagiri's Aces

Level 10 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Toshinori Takashima was all in for 84,800 with {a-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds} but had run into the {a-Hearts}{a-Spades} of Yuri Odagiri.

The {3-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{k-Hearts} flop gave Takashima not much hope of an unlikely double, but the {2-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} runout gave him a flush.

Not that he realised it, going to stand up as if eliminated. It wasn't until the dealer pointed it out that he sat back down and waited for his double.

Liuheng Wins Three-Bet Pot

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Dai Liuheng opened from the button and Seongsu Koon called in the small blind. The big blind three-bet to 8,500 and both players called.

The flop was {10-Spades}{9-Hearts}{3-Spades} and it checked to Liuheng who bet 7,000. The big blind was the only caller.

The turn was the {j-Spades} and the big blind check-called 11,000 from Liuheng.

The pair checked the {k-Diamonds} river and the big blind showed {j-Hearts}{4-Hearts} for a pair of jacks. Liuheng showed {j-}{k-} for two pair and took down the pot.

Kang Finds Huge Double Up

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Seungmin Kang took a lot of chips out of Eran Shaham's stack, after he managed to double-up with a full house.

The board was reading {3-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{8-Hearts} with Kang already all in and Shaham in the tank. Kang's shove was for 33,300 in a 70,000-chip pot, and Shaham eventually called.

He instantly mucked when Kang opened {2-Diamonds}{2-Spades} for a flopped set that turned into a full house, and he is now up to 137,000 in chips. Even after this pot, Shaham is still up to 120,000 in chips.

Showdown at the OK-ada Corral

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

A player opened and Seongsu Kong called. Christopher Mateo then moved all in, supposedly blind. The initial raiser folded and Kong implored his opponent to show him a card.

Mateo did so, showing the {a-Spades} before turning it face down again. Kong now asked him to show the second card.

"10,000!" said Kong. "20,000!" and Mateo asked to see the money.

Kong reached into his pocket but could only muster roughly ₱1,600.

Eventually Kong also flashed the {a-Hearts}. A short while later Kong folded.

Mateo then showed his {3-Clubs} and Kong laughed, slamming the table.

The floor then approached the table and dished out two-hand penalties to both players.

"Ok," said Kong. "Smoking time!"
