Matsuda Calls Down with Ace-High

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

On a {7-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{j-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} river, John Matsuda was facing a shove from an opponent for 26,500. This was almost all of Matsuda's chips and he took his time with his decision before eventually calling with {a-Diamonds}{8-Clubs} for ace-high.

His opponent showed {4-Hearts}{6-Hearts} for six-high and Matsuda sent him to the rail, moving up to just under 100,000 in the process.

Villa Barrels Turn and River

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Hernan Villa is another who has passed 100k chips, and in his last hand he won a pot with a barrel on the river.

The board was reading {8-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{a-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}, and Villa bet 12,000, getting a call from his opponent.

The {4-Diamonds} completed the board on the river, and Villa bet this time 11,000, that were enough to give him the pot, after his opponent's fold.

Chong Doubles With Aces

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Victor Chong was all in for 6,900 with {a-Diamonds}{a-Clubs} against the {a-Hearts}{k-Diamonds} of a single opponent.

The flop was {10-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} and his opponent was excited to pick up a flush draw, before he realised that his opponent held a better flush draw.

The turn {k-Hearts} gave his opponent some renewed hope but the {7-Spades} river saw him send chips over to Chong.

Victor Chong opened to 1,600 from under the gun and got calls from James Bonanno on the button and the player in the big blind.

The trio checked the {10-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{q-Spades} flop and the turn {a-Hearts} checked to Bonanno who bet 1,200. Chong was the only caller.

The river was the {5-Diamonds}.

Chong checked again and this time Bonanno bet 1,500. Chong called and Bonanno showed {k-Spades}{j-Diamonds} for a turned straight and took down the pot.

Bad Beat for Ysmael

Level 8 : 400/800, 800 ante

William Ysmael four-bet to 16,000 after his opponent's raise to 6,500 who opted to call. The weird thing was that the caller had only 3,000 chips left behind him.

The flop came {a-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{2-Hearts}, and the two players decided to check. The final few crumbs went in after the {7-Diamonds} came on the turn.

Ysmael was holding kings but his opponent had already found a set on the flop with a pocket pair of nines. The {3-Clubs} on the river didn't change anything and Ysmael lost a third of his stack.

Guan Bests Kong

Level 8 : 400/800, 800 ante

The board was {a-Hearts}{9-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} and Seongsu Kong had checked to Tianliang Guan who bet 20,000 into a pot of around 35,000.

Kong tanked and eventually the clock was called. As the seconds ticked down, Kong eventually flung in his chips to make the call.

Earlier, Kong had made the correct call to chip up to over 100,000 but this time he was shown the {q-Hearts}{9-Hearts} full house from Guan and Kong mucked.
