Rubie Triples With Jacks

Dean McIver opened with a raise to 1,800 with David Heskin flat calling in position. Brendon Rubie then moved all in from the cutoff and both opponents made the call.

McIver: {A-Spades}{K-Spades}
Heskin: {10-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}
Rubie: {J-Spades}{J-Hearts}

The board ran out {9-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{6-Spades}{9-Diamonds} and Rubie takes it down to triple up to 40,000 and eliminate McIver, who had plenty of outs on the turn, while Heskin is left with 25,000.

Boeree Sinking in the Counts

Liv Boeree
Liv Boeree
Somebody send up the emergency signal flare; Liv Boeree is getting short. She reraised to 4,600 from the small blind after an opponent raised to 1,600 from the button. Her opponent called, allowing the two players to see a flop of {K-Clubs} {10-Spades} {4-Spades}. Boeree fired out for roughly half-pot, 4,500, and was called. She checked the turn {4-Hearts}, then folded after the button player moved all in for 14,000.

Boeree has 11,000 chips left. With limits at 300 and 600, she's starting to get a bit short.

Endangered Species

A Claimed Bounty of a fallen pro... who's next?
A Claimed Bounty of a fallen pro... who's next?
Most of the bounties have been succesfully hunted down and "bagged and tagged". Still there are some who are stubborn and continue to hold out in the face of some hungry vultures eager to claim their buyin back by simply eliminating a high profile player.

Some of this rare breed of live bounty include Ben Delaney, Luke Santo, Liv Boeree, Billy the Croc, Van Marcus and the ever resiliant Lee Nelson.

Will these pros be hunted to extinction or will a bounty or two be facing off heads up for the title in this event?

Eric Assadourian has doubled through courtesy of John MacNaughton.

MacNaughton opened preflop from the cut off to 1,400 and found two callers in the button and Assadourian from the small blind.

On a flop of {10-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} Assadourian check-raised all in for his last 10,800, after MacNaughton led 3800 into him. MacNaughton made the call and the players showed down their hands.

MacNaughton {a-Hearts}{j-Hearts} for a pair of sevens, ace kicker.
Assadourian {7-Spades}{4-Spades} for a set of sevens.

With the turn {8-Spades} and river {2-Diamonds} Assadourian succesfully doubled through to 33,000. MacNaughton is still relatively strong at 42,000.

A Bit of a Sweetener

Michael Pedley and Oliver Gill are seated at the same table and have been for some time. It seems that Pedley has had enough of that chatty Mr. Gill. Since today's event is a headhunter format, he has placed AU$200 in cash on the table, to go to the player who knocks Gill out of the tournament.

We assume some restrictions apply.

Rush for Delaney

Ben Delaney's so good, he can win with unimproved ace-king. He reraised to 5,000 after an opponent opened for 1,500 in middle position. That opponent called to a flop of {9-Diamonds} {Q-Hearts} {9-Spades} and checked. Delaney bet 4,000, enough to put the other player all in. He called, showing {A-Spades} {5-Spades}. Delaney flipped over {A-Hearts} {K-Clubs} for the lead in the hand. When the turn came {10-Hearts} and river fell {8-Hearts}, Delaney collected another pot to climb to 50,000.
