Manny Rodrigues has just improved to 65,000 in chips with the recent elimination of Andrew Stolz.

Stolz moved all-in for his last 26,000 and when the action reached Rodrigues, he moved all-in over the top for a total of 35,000. Receiving no other callers, Rodrigues and Stolz embarked on an early showdown:

Stolz: {Q-Clubs}{4-Clubs}
Rodrigues: {K-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}

The board filled out a cooperative {A-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{J-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{8-Clubs} for Rodrigues, whose king-high was all he needed to take down the pot, sending Stolz to the rail.

Graham Continues Where He Left Off

The juggernaut known as "FlopNutsOnYou" seems to be rolling on into 2010 as Jarred Graham has recently stormed up the chip count leaderboard, thanks to a big clash with Tamara Volkoff.

Graham raised from early position before Volkoff moved all-in from the small blind. Graham made the call.

Volkoff: {A-?}{K-?}

The board fell {7-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{J-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}{7-Diamonds} and Graham's pair holds to see him now sit behind 180,000 chips.

Graham was the PokerNetwork.com Player of the Year for 2009 which saw him win several major titles in this country, not to mention his awesome online success. Still at the tender age of 20, he's a player to watch during this year's Aussie Millions and into 2010.

New Zealand's Richard Lancaster approached the PokerNews team and said, "I just got a message from Jeff Putt, he said to have a look at his stack."

So we ventured out to table 33 where Putt was sitting and discovered that the distant relation of Graeme Putt was sitting a stack of 210,000, doubling what he started with today.

According to his recount, Putt managed to bust an opponent after managing to flop a set of nines against the opponent's pocket aces.

Putt was paid off; the opponent moved the rest of his stack in on the turn and the rest, as they say, was history.

With an all-in shove for 18,000 in front of him, Tim Marsters re-raised all in and isolated the short stack as the table folded around.

Marsters flipped {7-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} as was racing against his opponent's {A-Spades}{K-Diamonds}. The board fell {4-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} to leave Marsters with the pot as he moves up to 93,000.

Edmonds Flips Out on Carter

Brendan Edmonds and Daniel Carter recently took part in an 87,000 flip that was won by Edmonds.

The two got it all in before the flop; Edmonds with big slick and Carter with a pocket pair of nines. The ensuing board ran out {2-Spades}{7-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}{6-Spades} giving Edmonds two pair, kings and sixes, and the checkmark.

Carter dropped to 65,000 in chips with the loss.

Saab Straightened Out by Former Student

A short-stacked Ewan Morgan moved all-in for his last 26,700 and was looked up by his (former) poker coach David Saab, who made the call from middle position holding {A-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}. Morgan produced the {k-Spades}{6-Clubs} and would need a little help from the board to stay alive, and that's exactly what he got.

The ensuing community cards filled out {5-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{3-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{8-Spades} giving Morgan a six-high straight, besting Saab's wheel to win the pot.

We counted both players at just under 60,000 in chips after the hand.

An opponent moved all-in for about 47,000 with {a-Spades}{q-Spades} on a flop that read {a-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{2-Hearts}, only to have a well-disguised Barry Woods call him down with {7-Spades}{7-Diamonds}, which improved to quads when the {7-Clubs} hit on the turn.

The river {k-Clubs} was merely a formality - the opponent is out, but Woods is now one to watch, sitting on 233,000 in chips!

Mann Down

Jason Mann is another short stack to bite the dust on Day 2 action. After raising to 9,000 from under the gun and finding a caller in the big blind, Mann moved the last chips into the middle on a {7-?}{7-?}{4-?} flop holding pocket tens. However the big blind had set the trap with his pocket aces, which held as Mann couldn't find a ten on the turn and river.
