King Kondevski

Todor Kondevski raised to 12,000 before his opponent in the big blind moved all-in over the top. Kondevski snap-called with {K-Hearts}{K-Spades} to be in command against {Q-Spades}{Q-Hearts}.

The board ran out {9-Spades}{6-Hearts}{6-Spades}{A-Diamonds}{2-Spades} and Kondevski moves up to 87,000 chips.

Rubie Doubles

It was folded around to a short-stacked Brendon Rubie who from the button looked at one card before sticking his last 42,000 into the middle. His opponent in the big blind quickly called with {A-?}{q-?}. Rubie announced "I have a king" and then flipped over the {k-Diamonds} before looking at his second card. Fortunately for Rubie it was the {a-Spades} and he apologized for the unintentional slow roll.

The board bricked out and Rubie doubled up to about 90,000.

Chamma Time!

Rodney Chamma has emerged through the pack to now be amongst our tournament chips leaders after a big hand fell his way on the river.

From the small blind, Rodney Chamma called an under the gun raise preflop, and then check-called a bet on the flop before being all in on the turn on a {9-?}{Q-?}{4-?}{10-?} board.

Chamma held pocket jacks but needed help as his opponent showed pocket kings.

The river brought yet another king to complete Chamma's straight to hand him the pot and a stack worth 250,000 chips.

Matthews on the March

Mick Matthews' friends and family up in the small country town of Nagambie (about two hours north of Melbourne) will be pleased to know he's still in, now on 139,000 in chips after eliminating another opponent.

The player had just been moved to the table and woke up with {a-Spades}{q-Diamonds} in the first hand he played, only to run into Matthews' {k-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}.

The board ran out {j-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{j-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}, improving neither hand and we edge one place closer to the money.

Haidaris Not Ready for Marriage

If a real life Mrs. Haidaris is out there and reading this, fret not. We're not referring to your husband's marital suitability in that sense of the word; rather, the poker hand king-queen, commonly referred to as a 'marriage,' which is the hand that both crippled and eliminated your would-be husband from the event.

In the first hand, Haidaris opened with a raise to 8,500 from under-the-gun and Daniel Carter was the only caller. The flop came down {4-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}{K-Hearts} and Haidaris check-raised all in on the flop holding {K-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}. Carter quickly snapped him off with a set of fours, knocking Haidaris down to just 10,000 in chips.

A few moments later, Haidaris found himself all in with king-queen again, this time drawing very slim against Stephen Smith's {A-Hearts}{K-Hearts}. The board filled out {6-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{A-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} giving Smith a full house and subsequently sealing Haidaris' fate.

Of note, Haidaris was one of our top-ten chip stacks at the start of the day.

Big Fish, Little Fish, Cardboard Box ...

Xenofontos: catch of the day
Xenofontos: catch of the day
We just caught the action as Karib Karib, Xen Xenofontos and Semon Deeb were all standing up around their table.

After some early preflop action, Karib ended up putting his last 35,700 into the middle with a pot of around 20,000. Xenofontos had called and Deeb looked pained as he mucked his hand - so to the showdown we went:

Karib: {a-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}
Xenofontos: {k-Spades}{k-Hearts}

The board ran out {7-Hearts}{j-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{4-Hearts} to double Karib up over 95,000 in chips.

"I had pocket nines," said Deeb.

"Big fish got away," Karib replied.

Savage Blow For Jones

Iwan Jones raised it up to 13,500 from the small blind before Ben Savage moved all-in for his last 66,000 from the big blind. Jones made the call.

Jones: {Q-?}{Q-?}
Savage: {A-Spades}{K-Spades}

The board fell {3-Hearts}{6-Spades}{10-Clubs}{A-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} to spike a pair of aces for Savage for the double up to around 135,000, to leave Jones on 45,000.

This table is quite formidable at the moment as it features Petar Lackovic, Chris Evans, Callum Ford, Brendon Rubie, Jan Suchanek, Iwan Jones and Ben Savage.

Buy or Selbst

Vanessa Selbst
Vanessa Selbst
DeucesCracked executive producer and coach Vanessa Selbst is now up to 110,000 in chips after a recent confrontation with Hans Jaxgard.

We caught up to the hand on the river with the board showing {9-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{8-Spades}. Selbst, first to act, fired a 27,000 bet into a ~50,000 pot. Jaxbury opted to fold, surrendering the pot to Selbst, leaving himself with right around 75,000 in chips.

The DeucesCracked crew is driving the Aussie Millions Academy, running daily from now through January 30th here at Crown.

See Semon Run

Deeb rolls on
Deeb rolls on
Semon Deeb continues his charge, taking down a 190,000 pot to move up to 255,000 in chips after managing to hold up on a board of {5-?}{5-?}{7-?}{3-?}{a-?} holding pocket nines against Leonid Cai.

Cai led out on the flop, turn and river and Deeb called him all the way. Cai mucked his hand, knowing he had been caught out. He's still in the tournament, but has been cut back to 85,500 in chips.
