Vos Busts

On a {a-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{7-Hearts} flop Mark Vos got all in with {a-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} but would need help against his opponents {10-Hearts}{7-Clubs}.

The {q-Clubs} on the turn, and the {6-Spades} on the river would not be the help he needed, and Mark Vos is out.

Bluff Gone Right

[Removed:197] is up to 75,000 after an untimely bluff worked out quite well for him.

A player sitting under-the-gun opened with a raise to 6,000 and another unknown to his left made the call before the action reached [Removed:198], who moved all in for 30,100 in an attempted squeeze play. Action then folded around to a fourth player in the hand sitting in the hijack position and he moved all in over the top of [Removed:198] for upwards of 100,000. All other players folded, setting up a heads-up showdown between [Removed:198] and the hijack player:

[Removed:198]: {8-Clubs}{7-Clubs}
Opponent: {Q-Spades}{Q-Hearts}

The ensuing board then ran out {4-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{4-Spades}{5-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} giving [Removed:198] a straight to stay alive in the tournament.

J.P. Kelly Takes One

A player from under the gun made it 6,000 to go and found a caller in J.P. Kelly in the big blind.

The flop came down {k-Spades}{4-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}.

Kelly checked, his opponent made it 6,000 and Kelly came along for the ride.

The turn brought the {10-Spades} and the action was the same. Kelly checked, his opponent made it 6,000 and Kelly made the call.

On the river, the {k-Hearts} fell and it was like deja vu. Check, 6,000 bet, call.

The player under the gun showed {7-Diamonds}{7-Spades} and Kelly flipped over {9-Hearts}{9-Clubs} for the win.

Shinzaki Shazamed

Michael Shinzaki has just been eliminated from the main event by Mile Krstanoski. Shinzaki was gone from his seat when we arrived at the table, so Krstanoski replayed the hand for us:

Shinzaki opened the pot with a raise to 4,800 from middle position and was called by Krstanoski in the cutoff and a third player on the button.

The flop came king-high and Shinzaki checked to Krstanoski who fired a 16,000 bet. The button player folded and when the action reached Shinzaki, he moved all in for about 40,000. Krstanoski made the call and a showdown ensued:

Shinzaki: {Q-?}{Q-?}
Krstanoski: {A-?}{K-?}

The turn and river both blanked and Krstanoski took down the pot with a pair of kings, improving to 140,000 in chips on the day.

Gus Flops Well

We walked over to the sound of an "all-in, call" to see Gus Hansen had flopped a wheel with {a-Spades}{3-Diamonds}, on a {4-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{5-Spades} board. His opponent was drawing live with {2-Spades}{3-Spades}, and would pick up even more outs when the {8-Spades} hit the turn.

Gus seemed to like the sweat, as he said "at least it makes things interesting," but was surely happy to see the {3-Hearts} on the river.

In a side note, Gus seems to be channeling his table mate "Toothpick Tony" as he is sitting with a toothpick in his mouth while he plays.

Gus is now sitting at about 230,000.

KaPow-ell

Preflop, Julian Powell, who was under the gun, put all of his chips on the line (35,000 to be exact). The player to his left also put his chips in the middle, covering Powell with 80,000.

Powell tabled {q-Clubs}{q-Hearts} and his opponent showed {k-Spades}{k-Diamonds}.

The flop came down {j-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{10-Spades} showing no help for Powell. The turn, {2-Hearts} wasn't what he was looking for either. It wasn't until the river that Powell got what he wanted when the {q-Diamonds} hit the felt.

Changes in Studio 3

So not only do we have a few new faces up here in Studio 3, like Mark Vos who has about 50,000 and Elliot Smith who has about 70,000, but the entire feature table has been changed as well.

The new feature table will feature a clash of the titans, as Sorel Mizzi and Chad Wiedenhoeft are now under the spotlights.

It's worthwhile to note that Mizzi has one player between he and the chip leader, with Mizzi having position on Wiedenhoeft.

Gill = Busto

Just before the last break, Oliver Gill was eliminated from the main event by Jessica Dawley.

Dawley opened the pot with a raise to 3,700 from the button and when the action reached Gill in the big blind, he moved all in over the top for his last 26,000 holding {4-Clubs}{2-Clubs}. Dawley looked him up with the {K-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds} and the ensuing board ran out {10-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{8-Spades}{6-Hearts}{J-Hearts}, allowing Dawley's king-queen high to hold.

After the hand, Dawley was up to 180,000 in chips.
