Cohen Runs Smack Dab Into Queens

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Action folded to a short-stacked Sam Cohen, who if you recall finished eighth in this event back in 2013 for AU$120,000 (her largest career score to date), and she shoved from the button for 105,000. Daniel Engels then three-bet all in over the top from the small blind which inspired Joseph Sandaev to fold from the big.

Cohen: {10-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}
Engels: {q-Clubs}{q-Hearts}

Cohen needed to some help, but she found none on the {6-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{2-Hearts} flop. The {5-Diamonds} turn gave her a gutshot, but it didn't come in as the {2-Spades} blanked on the river.

Josep Maria Galindo Lopez
Josep Maria Galindo Lopez

Josep Maria Galindo open shoved his last 76,000 in from the cutoff. Xingrong Ren in the small blind made the call, James Obst folded from the big blind.

Josep Lopez Galindo: {A-Hearts}{6-Clubs}
Xingrong Ren: {A-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}

The board came {9-Spades}{Q-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{7-Hearts} and Galindo hit the rail in 60th place.

"NEVER GIVE UP!"

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante
Mikel Habb
Mikel Habb

Mikel Habb just found himself all in before the flop for his tournament life, and he was up against Martin Rowe, seated directly on his left.

"Let's go!" Habb screamed off the top of his lungs upon seeing the cards of his opponent.

Habb: {A-Clubs}{K-Hearts}
Rowe: {9-Diamonds}{9-Spades}

The flop brought out {K-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{J-Hearts} and Habb shouted, "Yes!! Come on!!"

On the turn the {6-Hearts} hit, and Habb cheered again, before bursting out in a celebration after the {4-Clubs} hit the river.

"That's how you do it!!" Habb screamed.

"Ship it!!" Habb continued, "Ship it to papa! Ship it to papa!"

After sitting back down and stacking up his chips, Habb screamed loud enough for the entire room to hear, "NEVER GIVE UP!!"

All Goes Wrong for Hong

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Jean-Pascal Savard raised to 18,000 from the hijack and Ryan Hong shoved all in from the button for 163,000. Samantha Abernathy in the big blind tanked for a bit before announcing all in as well. Savard folded.

Samantha Abernathy: {8-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}
Ryan Hong: {K-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}

The board ran out {J-Hearts}{Q-Spades}{A-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{8-Spades} and Hong hit the rail while Abernathy started stacking.

Chu 'Em Up and Spit 'Em Out

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

John Chu got his stack of 183,000 all in preflop and was at risk against Daniel Engels.

Engels: {a-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}
Chu: {10-Diamonds}{10-Spades}

It was a flip, but not after the {10-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{j-Spades} flop gave Chu a set. That said, Engels did pick up a Broadway draw to a king. The {A-Clubs} turn was it, and neither was the {5-Clubs} river. Chu survived, much to the delight of his friends on the rail.

Diamonds Are Not Turker's Best Friend

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante
Sadan Turker
Sadan Turker

"All in and a call Table 32," a dealer bellowed.

We made our way over to discover that a raising war on a {4-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{q-Diamonds} flop resulted in Sadan Turker getting his stack all in and at risk against James Obst.

Obst: {a-Clubs}{4-Clubs}
Turker: {k-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}

Obst had flopped trip fours, but Turker was drawing to diamonds. Unfortunately for him neither the {7-Spades} turn nor {8-Spades} river was the red card he was looking for and his 2016 Aussie Millions Main Event run came to a sudden halt.

Dunst Doubles Hong

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Tony Dunst opened to 17,000 from early position and Ryan Hong shoved from the small blind for 69,000. The bug blind folded and Tony Dunst tossed in a single 1,000 chip to call.

Ryan Hong: {A-Spades}{9-Diamonds}
Tony Dunst: {6-Diamonds}{6-Spades}

The board ran out {A-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}{J-Spades}{2-Hearts}{3-Hearts} and Hong doubled up.
