Guillen and Kempe Chip Up Without Showdown

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

With 35,000 in the middle and the turn showing {10-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{A-Diamonds}, Fedon Phaedonos checked in the big blind and Rainer Kempe made it 17,500 to go from the cutoff. That ended the hand right there, as Phaedonos sent his cards into the muck.

Angel Guillen also chipped up in the upper tournament area. His opponent bet the {10-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{6-Spades}{5-Hearts}{7-Spades} river for 7,000 with 20,000 behind and Guillen in middle position raised to 35,000. A reluctant fold followed and Guillen peeked at his cards again, wanted to show one but decided against it.

"You didn't want to show the bluff?" another player at the table inquired.

The player in the cutoff showed {8-Clubs}{5-Clubs} for eight-high which was not enough against Honeyman who exposed {7-Spades}{4-Spades} for a pair of fours and the winning hand.
