Former Champion Gorr Eliminated

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

According to Spiros Maroulis, David Gorr moved all in for 16,000 from middle position with {a-}{q-} and Maroulis called in the big blind with {10-}{10-}.

There was no help for the former Main Event champion as he was eliminated towards the end of the second level of the day.

That means that Tyron Krost is the last former champion standing in this year's record-breaking Main Event.

Guillen and Kempe Chip Up Without Showdown

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

With 35,000 in the middle and the turn showing {10-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{A-Diamonds}, Fedon Phaedonos checked in the big blind and Rainer Kempe made it 17,500 to go from the cutoff. That ended the hand right there, as Phaedonos sent his cards into the muck.

Angel Guillen also chipped up in the upper tournament area. His opponent bet the {10-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{6-Spades}{5-Hearts}{7-Spades} river for 7,000 with 20,000 behind and Guillen in middle position raised to 35,000. A reluctant fold followed and Guillen peeked at his cards again, wanted to show one but decided against it.

"You didn't want to show the bluff?" another player at the table inquired.

Honeyman Makes The Call

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

On a flop of {2-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{6-Clubs} Dylan Honeyman checked from the big blind before the player in the cutoff bet 2,000. Honeyman raised to 5,500 and was called.

Both players checked the {k-Hearts} on the turn before the {q-Clubs} completed the board.

Honeyman checked. The player in the cutoff tossed out 9,000. Honeyman deliberated for a minute then called.

The player in the cutoff showed {8-Clubs}{5-Clubs} for eight-high which was not enough against Honeyman who exposed {7-Spades}{4-Spades} for a pair of fours and the winning hand.

Lin Doubles Her Opponent

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

On a flop of {2-Spades}{3-Spades}{7-Spades} Celina Lin checked from the big blind before her opponent in middle position bet 4,200. Lin then raised to 12,800 and the bet was called.

The turn brought the {10-Hearts} and Lin tossed out 16,000. Her opponent called shortly after.

The {4-Clubs} completed the board and Lin pushed enough 5,000-chips to the middle to put her opponent all in. He snap-called with 39,400 chips behind.

Lin tabled {7-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} for a set of sevens but would lose the hand after her opponent revealed {k-Spades}{j-Spades} for a flopped flush.

Jattin Back Above 300,000

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Farid Jattin was up over 300,000 at one point, but at a tough table alongside Michael Soyza, Bryn Kenney and Dzmitry Urbanovich he had slipped down somewhat.

Jattin checked a {j-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{6-Hearts} flop to former Main Event champion Tyron Krost who bet 3,000. Jattin check-raised to 11,700 and Krost called.

The turn was the {k-Clubs}. Jattin bet 14,400 and was called.

The river was the {2-Spades}. Jattin bet 29,900 and after a short tank, Krost folded. That puts Jattin's stack back above 300,000.

Sylvia Takes One Down

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

The player under the gun plus one raised to 2,500 and was called by the player in the hijack as well as Jesse Sylvia in the big blind.

All three players checked the {8-Hearts}{2-Spades}{7-Hearts} flop before the {6-Hearts} dropped on the turn.

Sylvia bet out 6,000 which saw the original raiser fold. The hijack came along.

Both players then opted to check after the {9-Diamonds} completed the board.

Sylvia tabled his {6-Clubs}{7-Clubs} for two pair and took down the pot after his opponent mucked his hand.
