Stang Busts Toma

Level 3 : 100/200, 200 ante
Bernie Stang
Bernie Stang

On a three-way flop of {7-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{5-Spades}, Bernie Stang check-raised from 1,400 to 4,400 out of the blinds and that resulted in a fold from Shivan Abdine and Tsugunari Toma called. The {a-Diamonds} fell on the turn and Stang reluctantly cut out a bet of 7,200, which Toma called with around 7,700 behind.

Stang then jammed the {6-Hearts} on the river and that sent Toma into the think tank. Stang jokingly hid his face with the hoodie and even put sunglasses on top of his regular glasses in an attempt to not give away any information. Toma, in the meanwhile, only stared at the board and not the opponent. He eventually called and Stang rolled over the {4-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} for a straight, Toma mucked {8-Clubs}{8-Hearts}.

Yang Zhang: {j-Hearts}{10-Hearts}

The board completed with the {10-Spades} turn and the {7-Clubs} river, and one Zhang was left with just 5,000 while the other essentially doubled to two starting stacks. On th same table, Cary Katz and Kahle Burns can be found as well.

Ming's Kings Do Their Thing

Level 3 : 100/200, 200 ante

On a {10-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} flop, Qi Ming was all in and at risk for 13,800 with {k-Clubs}{k-Hearts}. He was up against the {k-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} of an opponent who had flopped a pair and a flush draw.

The turn {5-Clubs} and river {3-Hearts} changed nothing and Ming doubled up.

Kisacikoglu Climbing Close to Starting Stack

Level 3 : 100/200, 200 ante

Orpen Kisacikoglu had lost some portion of his starting stack but a recent hand saw him get closer to the starting line again. Kisacikoglu raised under the gun, inviting players on the button and in the small blind to the {3-Clubs}{8-Spades}{2-Spades} flop. Kisacikoglu bet 500 and only the small blind peeled the turn.

The {q-Spades} was checked by both players, but the first player fired 2,500 on the {8-Diamonds} river. Kisacikoglu took a minute to figure out his move and then called. The other player showed air with {a-Clubs}{4-Clubs} and Kisacikoglu claimed the pot with {k-Spades}{q-Diamonds}.

Campbell Getting Short

Level 3 : 100/200, 200 ante

Takahiro Nakai opened to 450 on the button and Rob Campbell called in the small blind, as did the player in the big blind.

The flop came {a-Clubs}{9-Spades}{3-Spades} and it checked to Nakai who bet 600. Campbell check-raised to 2,100 and the big blind folded. Nakai called and the pair checked the {2-Hearts} turn.

The river was the {8-Diamonds}. Campbell checked, and folded to a bet of 5,850 from Nakai to be left with just 8,000in chips.

Van Blarcum Jams on Turn

Level 3 : 100/200, 200 ante

Aaron Van Blarcum made it 700 from the hijack and called a 1,600-reraise from a player on the button. Both checked the {q-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{7-Diamonds} flop and Van Blarcum moved all in when the {3-Clubs} appeared on the turn. His opponent looked at the size of the shove and folded upon seeing it was 5,450.

Early Exit for Dyer

Level 3 : 100/200, 200 ante

Michael Dyer experienced a roller coaster start into Day 1c that saw him drop to half the starting stack, double through Sam Grafton, and see Grafton through in two hours. Just now he got it in after a flop of {q-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} for the last 10,525 and held the {j-Hearts}{5-Hearts} for a pair and flush draw.

Peter Jetten, a recent addition to the table, looked him up with {k-Hearts}{k-Diamonds} and the board completed with the {6-Spades} turn and {10-Spades} river.

Huntly Dispatches Douaglin

Level 3 : 100/200, 200 ante

Joel Douaglin and Dennis Huntly got their money in on the {9-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} flop and Huntly got the better of it with {q-Diamonds}{q-Hearts} against {q-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}. Douaglin needed running cards to stay in the tournament as Huntly had him covered. However, the {7-Spades} sealed the deal for Huntly who improved to 38,500.

"Sorry man, can't fold that," Huntly apologized for the knockout.
