Muehloecker Doubles Up

Level 4 : 150/300, 300 ante

Thomas Muehloecker was seen firing 4,800 into about 7,500 with the board reading {j-Hearts}{j-Clubs}{4-Spades}{8-Spades}. He was in the cutoff and Raymond Chen called in position.

The {6-Diamonds} landed on the felt and Muehloecker grabbed all but one of his chips, betting 13,575 to leave himself with just a 100-denomination chip, which was sitting on his cards. Chen called and Muehloecker showed the best hand with {j-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} as his opponent mucked.

No Comeback for Noda

Level 4 : 150/300, 300 ante

Hiroyuki Noda was all-in for around 5,000 with the {k-Hearts}{k-Clubs} on a flop of {10-Spades}{8-Clubs}{7-Clubs} but his hopes of a comeback were all but gone as the cutoff turned over {j-Clubs}{9-Diamonds} for the jack-high straight. The {q-Clubs} turn brought a spark of hope but the {2-Hearts} river blanked.

Queens Good for Koren

Level 4 : 150/300, 300 ante

On a {k-Clubs}{6-Spades}{8-Spades} flop two players including Artur Koren checked to Juafeng Wang who bet 1,000. He got two callers and the turn was the {k-Hearts}.

It checked to Wang again who bet 2,000, and this time Koren was the only caller.

The river was the {9-Clubs}. Both players checked.

"I have an eight," said Wang, tabling {j-Clubs}{8-Clubs} and Koren took down the pot with {q-Hearts}{q-Spades}.

Level 4 : 150/300, 300 ante

Cary Katz was in position in a battle of blinds which saw the players go to the flop for 900 apiece. Katz bet 1,200 on {9-Spades}{k-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}, earning check-call. The {q-Spades} turn was checked and Katz' opponent checked one more time on the {j-Hearts} river. Katz threw in 1,800 and the other player called but he mucked when Katz tabled {q-Clubs}{9-Clubs}.

Siow Among the Big Stacks

Level 4 : 150/300, 300 ante
Graeme Siow
Graeme Siow

Graeme Siow opened to 750 and Sam Greenwood three-bet to 2,600. The action folded back to Siow and he made the call to see a flop of {q-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}. Siow opted to check and he then proceeded to call a continuation bet for 2,000.

There was no further betting action on the {3-Hearts} turn and {7-Clubs} river, and Greenwood tabled {a-Clubs}{k-Spades}, Siow chopped with the {a-Hearts}{k-Clubs} to remain as one of the biggest stacks.

Obara Finds a Double Against Aces

Level 4 : 150/300, 300 ante

In what seemed to be a preflop four-bet pot, a player in the small blind tangled with Jun Obara in middle position. Both players checked the {q-Hearts}{k-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} flop and the small blind announced all in when the {5-Spades} hit the turn. Obara snapped him off for his last 11,100.

"You have kings?" Obara's opponent said, turning up aces.

But Obara had an even better hand, showing {j-Clubs}{10-Clubs} for a flopped straight.

"Oh," the other player reacted, knowing he was drawing dead. Obara scored a double, vaulting back over starting stack.
