Thomas Chip Leader on Break?

Level 4 : 150/300, 300 ante

Russell Thomas was on the verge of 100,000 chips a while earlier, but on closer inspection he's now sitting on a stack of 125,000 as the tournament approaches the dinner break.

With over US$3.1 million in lifetime cashes, Thomas has three previous Aussie Millions cashes, the biggest of which came in 2015 when he finished third in the Shot Clock Six Max for A$54,850.

Jack's Good, Indeed

Level 4 : 150/300, 300 ante

Kahle Burns opened in middle position and he received three calls. The {9-Spades}{6-Spades}{q-Clubs} flop was checked to Cary Katz who bet 1,800 from the cutoff. Only Burns called the wager.

Katz opted to skip barrelling the {j-Clubs} turn and eventually checked back on the {2-Hearts} river as well.

"Jack's good," Katz declared, hoping for Burns to turn up his hand first.

"Alright Cary, what do you have, sir? Burns laughed, and Katz had to show his {a-Hearts}{6-Hearts}. Burns then rolled over {k-Diamonds}{j-Spades}, confirming Katz' read.

Kisacikoglu Doubles With Aces Versus Kings

Level 4 : 150/300, 300 ante
Orpen Kisacikoglu
Orpen Kisacikoglu

Dennis Huntly raised to 700 and Orpen Kisacikoglu on the button three-bet to 2,100. The big blind made it 6,300 to go and Huntly joked "can I ask my poker coach what to do?" and pointed to Mikita Badziakouski in the two seat. He then added "I know what to do, fold and smile. It is important to smile."

Kisacikoglu tossed in calling chips after and also called a bet of 5,500 on the {9-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{4-Clubs} flop. The big blind jammed the {2-Clubs} turn and Kisacikoglu instantly called with {a-Clubs}{a-Hearts} as the big blind tabled {k-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}. Kisacikoglu had the best of it and even made top set on the {a-Diamonds} river to double for 12,500.

Portaro Gets Huge Double Despite Airballing

Level 4 : 150/300, 300 ante
Bruno Portaro
Bruno Portaro

Sam Grafton was in the big blind, betting into a huge pot of around 10,000 with {2-Spades}{7-Hearts}{5-Spades} on the table. Bruno Portaro raised to 8,000 from the button and Grafton fired back, shoving for an effective 33,050. Portaro called off.

Grafton held {4-Clubs}{3-Spades} for an open-ended straight draw, and while Portaro had only ace-high at the time, he was in great shape with {a-Spades}{4-Spades}, significantly blocking Grafton's hand.

The {9-Diamonds} and {9-Hearts} runout bricked each players' draws and Portaro found himself stacking a giant pot despite airballing.

Greenwood Believes Bozdugan in Big Pot

Level 4 : 150/300, 300 ante

Allen Kessler, who shares the boards with Sam Greenwood and Halil Bozdugan on table 17, recalled the flop and turn action of a hand in which the two of his opponents met. It was a juicy pot as they were entering the final betting round with around 25,000 in the middle and {8-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{8-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} on the felt.

According to Kessler, Bozdugan had checked from the big blind on the flop, letting Greenwood fire 4,000 from hijack. Bozdugan then check-raised to 10,000 and Greenwood called. Then they checked the turn.

Bozdugan, however, cut out a bet of 18,400 on the river and Greenwood tanked for a while. He smiled at his opponent and eventually laid his hand down. Bozdugan carefully sent his cards face down towards the dealer and then dragged the pot.
