It seems like every five minutes there is at least one dealer shouting "all-in and call" from somwhere across room. On the last two occasions I have caught such a hand in progress, it has involved one player holding ace-king and the other a small pair, with the pair coming out on top.
We only caught bits of the action owing to there being craziness to track at virtually every table, but we do know that there had already been a raise when Marco Bognanni reraised, and to his immediate left Haykel Vidal cold four-bet well over 100,000. Our attention was briefly pulled away to something else, but when we returned the two players were at showdown, so we're assuming that Bognanni shipped and Vidal called.
Bognanni:
Vidal:
Board: ... ! ...
These were both pretty big stacks, and it took a long time to establish that Vidal was just about covered. They shook hands and Bognanni took possession of the monstrous pot - at around 1.3 million, he is our new chip leader.
Luis Rufas raised and Tomer Berda called from the button, only to face a shove from Filippo Marcolini in the small blind for 168,000 more. Rufas folded, but Berda disappeared into the tank for a good long while before calling all in.
He was only just covered, and only just pipped.
Berda:
Marcolini:
Board: a diamond-tastic
Berda hit the rail, and Marcolini is up to 350,000.
Team PokerStars Pro Leo Fernandez opened with a raise to 25,500 in the cut off and Thor Stang three-bet on the button to 47,000. The small blind folded and Per Linde shoved from the big blind. Fernandez stared at Stang for a very long time before folding and the decision was on Stang and it was for his tournament life. After a long time Stang said, "I cannot believe I am folding this hand." Then folded. Linde did not show.
Brent Courson has doubled up when he found one of his three outs after all the money went in pre flop. Courson was holding and Dominik Nitsche had pocket kings.
The dealer found Courson an Ace on the flop and the turn and river was no help to Nitsche.
Two PokerStars Online Qualifiers have just butted heads with George Tsolakos coming off second best.
Tsolakos opened with a raise of 17,000 and Thorsson three-bet to 65,000 and Tsolakos moved all-in for 232,500 and Thorsson immediately called.
Tsolakos:
Thorsson:
The board did not help Tsolakos as it ran out and he was eliminated. Thorsson moves back up to 630,000 after his little set back against Lefrancois and the table has just broke.
Luis Rufas opened for 18,500 on the button and Marc Naalden flat-called from the small blind. Isaac Schachtel now shoved from the big blind for around 150,000, prompting a long dwell but ultimately a fold from Rufas. Naalden, though, called in an instant, and they were on their proverbial backs.
Schactel:
Naalden:
Mr. Schactel is out of the running. Naalden, meanwhile, is up to a comfortable 570,000.
Bulgarian, Atanas Gueorguiev has just doubled up to around the 200,000 chip mark to give himself some more breathing room.
The previous hand he had raised preflop from the cutoff but had to fold when Federico Cipollini moved all-in over the top of him but this time he was the one three-bet shoving, doing so when Roman Makhlin raised from late position.
Gueorguiev:
Makhlin:
The board ran out and Gueorguiev doubled up. Makhlin did not seem too bothered by the fact he had just lost a hand, maybe because he still has over one million chips
Team PokerStars Pro, Matthias De Meulder has just seen his stack swell to 433,000 when his kings held up against the ace-queen of Moshe Vaizman.
We only saw the final board reading with the television cameras taking shots of De Meulder's but Mr De Meulder informed us that his opponent had four-bet shoved with and the Belgian snapped him off.
Moshe Vaizman's stack has now been decimated and stands at a paltry 61,000
