Carter Swidler Eliminated; Alisan Holozlu Doubles

Level 16 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Manlio Iemina raised to 10,000 and Carter Swidler three-bet to 30,000 from the button with another 15,000 behind. Alisan Holozlu called in the small blind, as did Iemina. On the {K-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}{7-Hearts} flop, the action checked to Swidler and he bet 10,000, both opponents called.

On the {9-Spades} turn, the action again checked to Swidler and he shoved for his last 5,000. Holozlu raised to 32,000 and Iemina called. After the {5-Clubs} river, Holozlu then shoved and Iemina called with an almost identical stack.

"Sevens," Holozlu announced and turned over the {7-Clubs}{7-Spades}. Iemina had the {Q-Diamonds}{9-Clubs} and Swidler joined the rail with {K-Spades}{J-Spades}. Holozlu doubled for 124,500 and Iemina was left very short.

Sing When You're Winning?

Level 16 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Andrea Cortellazzi three-bet over an early position opening bet and that prompted an all-in from Miguel Mora Hernandez. Hernandez has cashed three times in his live career, all of them being in his native Spain and all of them in the Estrellas events that pre-cursor the EPT Main Event.

Hernandez added an EPT Main cash to his record after his all-in with {8-Hearts}{8-Clubs} was called by Cortellazzi, who showed {J-Hearts}{J-Diamonds} and ran out the winner as the board fell {10-Spades}{K-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{6-Hearts} . Cortellazzi decided that was the moment to explain to Hernandez why he had to make the call and was surprised his opponent had pocket eights.

"Hey, it's OK, man. You won the hand." jokes Hernandez, as he shakes his opponent's hand and walks to the cash desk.

Maxim Klopotok Gets the Final Knock

Level 16 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Brian Yoon raised from early position and Maxim Klopotok then shoved for his last 60,000 from the button. Yoon called and the cards were tabled.

Klopotok: {K-Spades}{Q-Clubs}
Yoon: {A-Diamonds}{10-Spades}

The board came {K-Hearts}{J-Hearts}{6-Spades}{4-Clubs}{Q-Hearts} and the river card gave Klopotok unfortunate two pair, which improved Yoon to a straight.

Thomas Miller Builds Stack; Petar Petrov Busts

Level 16 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

On the flop of {10-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{9-Spades}, Petar Petrov in the big blind and Thomas Miller on the button checked. After the {6-Hearts} turn, Petrov bet 15,000 and Miller called before the {J-Hearts} appeared on the river. Petrov bet 15,000 and Miller then raised to 40,000. Petrov eventually called only to muck to the {A-Diamonds}{A-Clubs} of Miller.

Petrov had about 40,000 left and those chips vanished shortly after.

Adam Owen Goes From Jack-Deuce To Kings

Level 16 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante
Adam Owen
Adam Owen

Hand 1
Adam Owen raised to 12,500 from the small blind and the player in the big blind called.

The flop was {9-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{4-Clubs} and both players checked. The turn was the {a-Spades} and Owen bet 13,000. His opponent called. The river was the {3-Clubs} and Owen bet 25,000 and his opponent snap-called.

Adam turned over {j-Hearts}{2-Spades} for a five-high wheel straight, not exactly a hand that tops the preflop charts, and his opponent let out an exasperated noise as he released his hand into the muck.

Hand 2
Alex Ward opened to 11,000 from early position and Adam Owen three-bet to 27,000 from the cutoff. Ward called and check-called a 25,000 from Owen on the {A-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}{8-Diamonds} flop. Both players elected to check the turn.

On the {4-Clubs} river, Ward bet 37,000 and Owen considered it for a bit. After a minute, he committed the call. Ward showed {10-Hearts}{9-Hearts} for a busted draw, and Owen raked in the pot with a legitimate hand this time: {K-Spades}{K-Clubs}.

Sam Chartier Busts Pasha Ahadpour Khangah

Level 16 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

We caught the tail end of an all-in-and-call situation at Sam Chartier's table. On a board of {K-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{7-}{7-}, Chartier had {7-Diamonds}{6-Hearts} in front of him. Pasha Adahpour Khangah's hand was already in the muck, and he said his goodbyes to his fellow tablemates.

With the elimination, Chartier is now up to 800,000 in chips.

Andreas Hoivold Busts in Huge Pot

Level 16 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante
Andreas Hoivold
Andreas Hoivold

The flop was showing {Q-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}{3-Diamonds} and Marco Caza bet 15,000. Andreas Hoivold made it 45,000 to go and Caza then squeezed to 105,000. Hoivold shoved for more than 500,000 and Caza called to create the biggest pot of the tournament so far.

Hoivold {K-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}
Caza {Q-Spades}{J-Spades}

Hoivold had middle pair and the flush draw, while Caza showed top two pair. On the {2-Clubs} turn, nothing changed, and the {J-Hearts} river even gave Caza a full house and eliminated the 2007 EPT Dortmund champion.
