Roine Plays the Rush

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante
Jake Cody
Jake Cody

We joined the action at Team PokerStars Pro Jake Cody's table with the British pro making it 14,000 to go from the hijack position and getting raised to 44,000 by Fady Kamar on the button. Jarno Roine called it off for his stack of 42,000 in the small blind and Cody made up the difference to see a flop.

The flop of {5-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{8-Spades} saw Cody (pictured) check and Kamar bet out 40,000. Cody folded and Kamar's {A-Spades}{K-Diamonds} was turned over. Roine, however, held {Q-Spades}{Q-Diamonds} and he held through the {J-Hearts} turn and {2-Hearts} river to treble up to 147,000.

In the next hand, Roine bet 13,000 from the button and bet post-flop and on the river for 15,000 each time across a board of {10-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}{A-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}{3-Clubs} against another opponent, being paid for having turned the Broadway straight with {K-Hearts}{J-Hearts} against {J-Spades}{3-Spades}.

Roine was one hand from the exit, but is up to 200,000 and that equates to over thirty big blinds.

Alex Ward Eliminated By Byron Kaverman

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

Table 5 appears to be one of the toughest tables in the room, with powerhouses like Byron Kaverman, Andreas Freund, Adam Owen and Mark Roovers all jockeying for a top position. Alex Ward was the latest victim at the table, as he met his demise at the hands of Byron Kaverman.

Kaverman opened {A-Hearts}{J-Clubs} to 15,000 and Ward shoved 90,000 with {9-Diamonds}{9-Spades}. Kaverman called after some deliberation and spiked a jack in the window to send Ward to the rail.

Gone Girl(s) - Kuo and Margets Eliminated

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante
Kitty Kuo
Kitty Kuo

In the space of a couple of minutes, both Kitty Kuo and Leo Margets have been eliminated from the Main Event.

First, Kitty Kuo three-bet all in against Kestutis Gecevicius with {a-Spades}{q-Spades} for around 100,000. Unfortunately for her, Gecevicius held {a-Hearts}{k-Hearts}, and it was good as the board ran out {k-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{9-Clubs}, and Kuo headed to the exit.

Meanwhile, Leo Margets was getting her remaining chips in against fellow Spaniard Ramon Miguel Munoz with {9-Clubs}{9-Hearts} against her opponent's {a-Spades}{k-Clubs}. Unfortunately for Margets, the flop contained an ace as it came {a-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{2-Clubs}{3-Clubs} and Margets joined Kuo ont he rail.
