Noubarian Versus Zuzaku

Level 4 : 100/300, 300 ante

The flop was {4-Hearts}{3-Spades}{3-Clubs} and Majid Ejlal Noubarian checked from early position to Florim Zuzaku. Zuzaku bet from the hijack and he put 1,200 in the middle. Noubarian called.

The turn was the {9-Hearts} and Noubarian checked again and Zuzaku put in a bet of 1,500. Noubarian min-raised to 3,000 and Zuzaku called.

The {Q-Hearts} river completed the board and Noubarian bet 2,300. Zuzaku called within a couple of seconds.

Noubarian showed {7-Clubs}{4-Clubs}, but that was not good enough against the {3-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} of Zuzaku.

Staples Coolered

Level 4 : 100/300, 300 ante
Jaime Staples, pictured in an earlier event.

Jaime Staples opened for 800 in middle position and got calls from the cutoff and small blind. Action checked to the cutoff on {8-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{9-Hearts} and he bet 1,500. Julien Pieffet called, as did Staples. The {10-Spades} turn got checked through and the river was a {5-Hearts}. Pieffet checked and Staples bet 5,500. The cutoff mucked but Pieffet shoved all in for 18,800.

This caused Staples to put his head in his hands but he called in short order.

"Flush," Pieffet said, showing {a-Hearts}{3-Hearts} for the nuts.

Staples revealed he also had a flush and a strong one: {k-Hearts}{q-Hearts}.

More Chips to Van Brugge

Level 4 : 100/300, 300 ante

Kees van Brugge sat on the button when it folded to him and he raised to 800. Small blind Wladimir Gerner called and the big blind folded.

The flop fell {10-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}{9-Hearts} and both players checked. The turn was the {4-Hearts} and Gerner checked again. Van Brugge bet 1,600 and he was called.

The {2-Clubs} river completed the board and Gerner check-folded to a bet of 3,800 of Van Brugge.

Level 4 : 100/300, 300 ante
Walter Treccarichi
Walter Treccarichi

Walter Treccarichi raised from middle position to 700 and he was called by Gabriele Lepore from the button and Jan Bednar from the big blind.

The flop was {A-Spades}{2-Clubs}{8-Spades} and Bednar checked to Treccarichi. He continued his preflop aggression with a bet of 1,100 and that was enough to make both of his opponents fold.

Treccarichi finished fifth in the €1,100 EPT National earlier this week, winning himself €89,000.

Sow Gets a Jam Through

Level 5 : 200/400, 400 ante

The pot had about 12,000 in it when the complete board was on the table. The board read {A-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{9-Spades}{Q-Spades} and Kalidou Sow was the one out of position who moved all in. His all in was for 11,200 and it sent Gael Dirig in the tank.

Dirig thought about it for a couple of minutes before saying something in French to Sow. Sow didn't respond to Dirig and there was some more tanking.

Dirig eventually let go of his hand and Sow picked up a nice pot without showdown.
