Psychic Simunic Doubles Up

Level 6 : 200/500, 500 ante

It was all in preflop between Christopher Frank and Josip Simunic, who was looking for a small double up through the big stacked German. However, it was looking good for Simunic who held {a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds} against the German's {a-Hearts}{j-Hearts}.

The flop came {9-Clubs}{j-Spades}{8-Hearts} giving Frank a pair of jacks. The turn was the {10-Spades} giving Simunic a straight draw.

"The Queen of Hearts, please," said Simunic, and the river came the {q-Hearts} completing Simunic's straight. "Thank you," he said to the board and/or dealer, and he doubled up.

Frank is sitting on over 120,000 chips and looks to be the chip leader as we approach the dinner break.

Badziakouski Wins High Roller Flip

Level 6 : 200/500, 500 ante

After a raise to 1,200 and three callers, Mikita Badziakouski moved all in for 19,300 from the small blind. Orpen Kisacikoglu, who had been the first player to call the raise, moved all in over the top from late position and isolated successfully.

Mikita Badziakouski: {A-Spades}{K-Diamonds}
Orpen Kisacikoglu: {Q-Clubs}{Q-Spades}

"Maybe I don't have to go for the dinner break," Badziakouski joked before the showdown and the board ran out {K-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{4-Spades}{10-Clubs} to award the double up to the Belorussian in a battle of High Roller regulars.

Setback for Boeree

Level 6 : 200/500, 500 ante

On the heads-up turn of {A-Clubs}{Q-Spades}{9-Spades}{Q-Clubs}, John Mooney bet 5,000 from late position and Liv Boeree called from two seats over in the cutoff. The {4-Spades} fell on the river and Mooney carefully cut out a bet worth 8,000. Boeree called and was shown {A-Spades}{7-Spades} for the nut flush by the fellow Brit, mucking an inferior flush and dropping to just over one third of the starting stack as a result.

Level 6 : 200/500, 500 ante
Stephen Chidwick
Stephen Chidwick

The colleagues of the PokerStars blog team caught the elimination of Stephen Chidwick, which vaulted Mark Demirdjian into a big stack. Chidwick had flopped a set with {J-Spades}{J-Diamonds} only for Demirdjian with {A-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} to get there with a runner runner straight on the board of {J-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{Q-Spades}{K-Clubs}.

Demirdjian had previously also sent Victoria Coren-Mitchell to the rail when his aces held up against the pocket jacks of the only two-time EPT Main Event champion thus far.

Fernandez Doubles; Dayan Doesn't

Level 6 : 200/500, 500 ante

On the heads-up turn of {A-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}, Saar Wilf checked and Javier Fernandez Alonso moved all in for 15,500. The pot was around 17,000 and Wilf was sent into the think tank, the clock was eventually called on him and Wilf called within the one minute of consideration.

Javier Fernandez Alonso: {A-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}
Saar Wilf: {A-Hearts}{Q-Spades}

Upon seeing the cards of his opponent, Wilf let out one single word: "Shit." The {9-Spades} river was a blank and Wilf dropped back down well below the starting stack.

One table over, Carl-Fredrik Tingvall raised to 1,300 from under the gun and snap-called the shove of David Dayan in the big blind.

David Dayan: {A-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}
Carl-Fredrik Tingvall: {Q-Spades}{Q-Clubs}

The board came {8-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{2-Spades}{5-Clubs}{6-Hearts} and Dayan headed to the rail.

Deyra Takes from Haneberg

Level 5 : 200/400, 400 ante

At the end of level five, Andre Haneberg raised to 900 and was called by Ivan Deyra in the small blind. On the {K-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{4-Hearts} flop both players checked and Deyra bet the {A-Clubs} turn for 2,200, Haneberg called. Deyra's bet on the {K-Spades} river was then for 10,000 and Haneberg gave it some thought before making the call.

Deyra rolled over {K-Hearts}{10-Hearts} for a full house and boosted his stack. The same table also features Rainer Kempe, Platinum Pass winner [Removed:510], Nick Petrangelo and Daniel Dvoress.

Despite losing this bigger pot, Haneberg is still among the biggest stacks in the room right now.
