Sorensson Can't Escape Anymore

Level 19 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante
Aleksandr Sheshukov and Sebastian Sorensson
Aleksandr Sheshukov and Sebastian Sorensson

Sebastian Sorensson had been able to double his short stack several times to stay afloat but the 2017 PokerStars Championship Barcelona Main Event champion would eventually run out of fortune.

Down to the last 68,000, he was all in against table neighbor Aleksandr Sheshukov and the following cards were tabled.

Sebastian Sorensson: {j-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}
Aleksandr Sheshukov: {a-Spades}{j-Clubs}

Sorensson called for diamonds but the {k-Clubs}{j-Spades}{10-Hearts}{10-Spades}{8-Spades} board let the kicker play as the eight was already counterfeited.

Gab Yong Kim: {a-Hearts}{10-Hearts}
Michael Soyza: {a-Diamonds}{4-Spades}

Soyza had flopped bottom pair and was in good shape to double up. The turn was the {k-Clubs} but the river was the {10-Diamonds} as Kim hit the card that would send Soyza to the rail.

Chidwick Out in Two Hands

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Stephen Chidwick
Stephen Chidwick

On the tail end of a hand between Stephen Chidwick in the big blind and Giorgiy Skhulukhiya in the hijack, the completed board showed {j-Hearts}{8-Spades}{6-Spades}{q-Hearts}{8-Hearts}. With what appeared to be 70,000 in the middle, Chidwick bet 69,000 and left himself a single T-1,000 chip behind.

Skhulukhiya eventually called without using a time bank and Chidwick was caught bluffing with the {9-Diamonds}{5-Clubs} for a busted gutshot. Skhulukhiya had that beat with the {10-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} and climbed up to a million in chips.

Chidwick was forced all-in for the last 1,000 chip one hand later and Glib Kovtunov raised to 16,000. Morten Hvam jammed the hijack and that isolated successfully.

Stephen Chidwick: {k-Hearts}{8-Spades}
Morten Hvam: {a-Diamonds}{k-Spades}

Chidwick could turn his single chip into 12,000 if he were to win but the board came {10-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{5-Spades}{a-Spades}{5-Hearts} to end his run.

The flop came {7-Spades}{8-Spades}{9-Spades} and Lybaert bet 60,000. Durnegger moved all in and Lybaert snap-called with {a-Spades}{10-Diamonds}. Durnegger held {k-Hearts}{k-Diamonds} and Pardo showed {k-Clubs}{9-Diamonds} for top pair.

The turn was the {4-Hearts} and the river the {k-Spades} which improved Durnegger to a set but completed Lybaert's nut flush and he doubled for his remaining 251,000, sending Pardo to the rail in the process.

Monster Double for Panka, Adams Eliminated

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Dominik Panka
Dominik Panka

From under the gun, Timothy Adams moved all in for his last 67,000. Dominik Panka, seated to his direct left, also shoved all in for 351,000. Behind him was Claudio Di Giacomo, who had a little more than Panka.

The Italian called as well to put two players at risk and the cards went on their backs.

Timothy Adams: {6-Hearts}{6-Spades}
Dominik Panka: {a-Diamonds}{k-Spades}
Claudio Di Giacomo: {q-Hearts}{q-Clubs}

The {9-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{3-Clubs} flop was a monster flop for Di Giacomo, which left Adams with just one and Panka with four outright outs to win. The {7-Spades} on the turn added a little more hope for Adams but it would be Panka with the last laugh as the {k-Hearts} rolled off on the river for a big win.

No Pay-Jump for Dimov; Pustina Moves to 1.5M

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante
Ognyan Dimov
Ognyan Dimov

Kemal Aslan raised to 18,000 in middle position and Ognyan Dimov called one seat over. Vlastimil Pustina three-bet to 75,000 in the small blind, Aslan folded and Dimov called.

The flop was {q-Spades}{10-Spades}{8-Spades} and Pustina bet 45,000, which Dimov called. The turn was the {j-Hearts} and Pustina fired another bullet worth 75,000. Dimov used one time bank card before calling, leaving himself with a mere 79,000 behind.

The river was the {2-Clubs} and Pustina shoved all in within seconds. Being on a payjump bubble, Dimov picked up his remaining time bank cards and spread all four of them out in front of him.

After burning through the extra minutes there was still no bustout on any of the other tables and the Bulgarian called it off with one second remaining.

Pustana showed {a-Spades}{2-Spades} for the flopped nut flush, Dimov flashed {q-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds} and became the last player to collect €10,970.

Earlier on the stream, both Orpen Kisacikoglu {7-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} and Xiaqing Ji {j-Spades}{9-Spades} saw a flop of {a-Spades}{7-Clubs}{2-Clubs}. Kisacikoglu checked and Ji bet 15,000. The Turk check-raised to 45,000 and Ji then re-raised to 125,000.

Kisacikoglu tanked before shoving for 427,000 and Ji eventually folded.

A short while later, Ionut Voinea opened {q-Hearts}{q-Diamonds} to 11,000 and Kisacikoglu {5-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} called on the button. Ji was in the big blind with {9-Spades}{9-Diamonds} and opted to three-bet to 45,000.

Voinea four-bet all in for 132,000 and Ji called.

The {q-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{k-Diamonds} flop improved Voinea to a set and there were no worries on the {6-Diamonds}{j-Hearts} runout as Voinea doubled up.

Last PokerStars Ambassador Kalidou Sow Eliminated by Koleno

Kalidou Sow
Kalidou Sow

Kalidou Sow got his short stack of around 60,000 in from the button and Stanislav Koleno made the call in the big blind.

Sow's {9-Clubs}{7-Clubs} faced the {j-Diamonds}{j-Spades} of Koleno and he picked up some equity on the {7-Spades}{6-Hearts}{5-Spades} flop. However, the {5-Hearts} turn and {4-Spades} river brought no help to the PokerStars ambassador and he was eliminated in the first level of the day.
