Boivin Stays Alive with Pay Jump in Sight

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

Thomas Boivin raised to 24,000 leaving himself 5,000 behind. Denys Shafikov announced raise, and then tried to put 48,000 in front. The dealer ruled that it would be a min-raise and 40,000 was put in front of him.

The big blind used all of his shot clock before folding, perhaps as a gesture of kindness to Boivin with the tournament two eliminations off of a pay jump.

"I don't plan on busting so..." said Boivin, gesturing to his final time extension. Still, he used his entire shot clock before calling.

Thomas Boivin: {a-Clubs}{q-Spades}
Denys Shafikov: {k-Clubs}{9-Clubs}

The board ran out {q-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{a-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} with two pair good enough for Boivin to double up and stay alive.

Game Over for Kruse

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

Aleksandr Sheshukov raised and called the shove of Fedor Kruse in the small blind to end up at risk for the last 154,000.

Aleksandr Sheshukov: {10-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}
Fedor Kruse: {a-Hearts}{8-Spades}

On a board of {6-Hearts}{3-Spades}{2-Hearts}{5-Spades}{9-Diamonds}, Kruse failed to connect and was left with just 18,000.

Sheshukov raised two hands later to 16,000 and Kruse called all-in from the button, Jean-Philippe Piquette tossed in the additional chips out of the big blind.

Piquette checked the {j-Spades}{8-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} flop and sent his cards into the muck when he faced a bet of 18,000 by Sheshukov.

Fedor Kruse: {q-Hearts}{8-Clubs}
Aleksandr Sheshukov: {k-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}

The {2-Clubs} turn and the {9-Spades} river failed to improve Kruse and he headed to the payout desk.

Biz Busted by Di Cesare

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

Mustafa Biz' final hand in this tournament would be holding {a-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}, which he had ran into the {a-Diamonds}{a-Hearts} of Alessio Di Cesare. There wouldn't be enough help to break the blades on a {j-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{4-Spades}, ending Biz' bid midway through Day 3.

[Removed:552] Jots Down Another Elimination

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

The board read {8-Hearts}{5-Spades}{q-Spades}{k-Hearts}{8-Spades} with over 300,000 in the middle already.

[Removed:551] had shoved for 173,000 in the big blind and Renato Hysenbelli was sitting in the tank from under the gun. After using a time bank card, Hysenbelli called for his tournament life and saw it wasn't good news. [Removed:552] tabled {10-Spades}{9-Spades} for the flush while he held {k-Clubs}{10-Hearts} himself for the turned paur of kings.

Michael Soyza

Gab Yong Kim raised to 17,000 from under the gun and Michael Soyza called in the big blind.

Gab Yong Kim: {a-Hearts}{10-Hearts}
Michael Soyza: {a-Diamonds}{4-Spades}

Soyza had flopped bottom pair and was in good shape to double up. The turn was the {k-Clubs} but the river was the {10-Diamonds} as Kim hit the card that would send Soyza to the rail.

Down and Up for Ji; Ensan Doubles

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

There was action on all three streets between Xiaqing Ji and Hossein Ensan, and the latter called all-in for 297,000 on the {8-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{2-Spades}{10-Hearts}{9-Hearts} river to get shown {9-Clubs}{6-Clubs} for a pair and busted straight flush draw by Ji. Ensan had that beat with the {10-Diamonds}{8-Spades} and scored the double.

Ji was all-in shortly after for 158,000 and won a flip with {k-Diamonds}{q-Hearts} against the {8-Hearts}{8-Clubs} of Luke Marsh thanks to a board of {k-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{3-Spades}{9-Spades}{j-Clubs}.

El Asmar Doubles Through Calamusa

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

Alessio Di Cesare raised to 17,000 from the hijack and was called by Hady El Asmar on the button. Pierre Calamusa three-bet to 70,000 from the small blind and the big blind folded. Di Cesare folded and El Asmar called.

The flop came {10-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{3-Hearts}, Calamusa checked and El Asmar shoved for 67,000. Calamusa snap-called.

Hady El Asmar: {q-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}
Pierre Calamusa: {a-Spades}{q-Hearts}

Krasimir Yankov: {5-Spades}{5-Hearts}
Dinesh Alt: {8-Clubs}{7-Clubs}

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

Sorin Flutur was all-in for the last 130,000 with the {k-Hearts}{k-Diamonds} and Renato Hysenbelli looked him up with the {8-Diamonds}{8-Spades}.

The board came {a-Spades}{k-Spades}{7-Clubs}{4-Spades}{a-Clubs} and Flutur dodged running spades, instead rivered a full house for good measure.
