Double Knockout for Zegal

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Harpreet Gill limped in and Stanislav Zegal then raised. Soenke Jahn had some 28,000 behind out of the big blind and jammed, Gill then called all-in and Zegal snapped them both off.

Harpreet Gill: {a-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}
Soenke Jahn: {10-Hearts}{10-Clubs}
Stanislav Zegal: {a-Clubs}{a-Hearts}

The board ran out {7-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{4-Spades} and Zegal knocked out two opponents.

"I thought about flatting," Jahn said before he headed out of the tournament area.

Dimov More Than Doubles

Level 8 : 400/800, 800 ante

Massimo De Mario raised to 1,800 from the button and Nikolai Tutin three-bet to 6,900 from the small blind. Ognyan Dimov four-bet jammed his last 11,000 over the line for De Mario to fold and Tutin to call.

Ognyan Dimov: {k-Hearts}{k-Clubs}
Nikolai Tutin: {q-Hearts}{8-Hearts}

The board ran out {8-Clubs}{6-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{9-Clubs} for Tutin to flop a pair but for Dimov to hold with the overpair to more than double up,

Vogelsang Runs Into Sootla's Kings

Level 8 : 400/800, 800 ante
Tom Vogelsang
Tom Vogelsang

Tom Vogelsang had an above-average stack some time ago but his downfall came fast once he was moved tables. Seemingly involved in a ton of hands, he was chipped down to just 11,200 when he got them in against Ranno Sootla.

It was Sootla who first exposed his {k-Spades}{k-Clubs} and Vogelsang squeezed his cards. He first showed the {4-Diamonds} and Sootla exclaimed "noooo, not ace four." The second {4-Hearts} was then also flashed and the dominated pair found no help on the {j-Clubs}{j-Spades}{3-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} runout.

"Good game buddy," Sootla added while Vogelsang gathered his belongings.

Gilboa Doubles Through Segebrecht

Level 8 : 400/800, 800 ante

The pocket queens of Claas Segebrecht were already mucked and he had moved forward his T-5,000 chips to pay off the double-up for Uri Gilboa. In a battle of premium pairs, Gilboa had the best of it with the {k-Spades}{k-Clubs} and prevailed on a {9-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} board.

The former EPT Sochi Main Event champion doubled for 24,200 and Segebrecht was left with a short stack.

Rudolph Gets the Folds

Level 8 : 400/800, 800 ante

Christian Rudolph raised to 1,700 from the middle position and both Marcel Popa in the cutoff and Tat Ngo on the button made the call.

The flop came {5-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{5-Spades}, Rudolph continued with a bet of 2,500 which only Ngo called.

The turn was the {6-Hearts} and Rudolph barreled a bet of 10,400 over the line, keeping 1,800 behind for Ngo to take a few seconds before opting to fold.

Pirault Among the Next Casualties

Level 8 : 400/800, 800 ante

Within quick succession, Georgi Sandev, Georgios Karakousis and Francois Pirault all departed from neighbouring tables.

Pirault's pocket nines were already mucked as he got it in for more than 20 blinds before the flop. He ran straight into the {a-Hearts}{a-Spades} of Thijs Dirkzwager, who nailed top set on the {a-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} flop. The {3-Clubs} turn sealed it, making the river a formality.

Kaukua Jams Into Guilbert

Level 8 : 400/800, 800 ante

In a battle of the blinds with limped action before the {8-Hearts}{6-Spades}{4-Diamonds} flop, Toni Kaukua checked and Johan Guilbert then bet the minimum. Kaukua opted for a check-raise to 3,000 and Guilbert came along. On the {q-Spades} turn, Kaukua bet 8,000 to receive a call and jammed the {9-Hearts} river for what appeared to be 28,500.

Guilbert went into the tank for a while and eventually surrendered.
