Brandstrom Runs Into Queens

Level 11 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

Stephen Song opened to 3,000 from the hijack and Simon Brandstrom three-bet jammed a short stack from the cutoff before Jimmy Saft re-shoved in the small blind. Song got out of the way.

Simon Brandstrom: {a-Clubs}{q-Clubs}
Jimmy Saft: {q-Hearts}{q-Clubs}

Brandstrom had a strong shot at doubling as the flop landed {8-Clubs}{2-Spades}{6-Clubs} to give him a flush draw, but the board then bricked out {5-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} to mark his elimination.

"Always a sweat!" Saft said in relief.

Talbot Shoves Button and Busts

Level 12 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
Parker Talbot
Parker Talbot

Parker Talbot shoved from the button for just a few big blinds. "Take your time," he joked to Gianluca Speranza, who was sitting in the big blind with an obvious pot odds call to make.

Speranza made the call and the cards were flipped.

Parker Talbot: {a-Hearts}{7-Spades}
Gianluca Speranza: {3-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}

The board ran out {3-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{6-Spades}{j-Hearts} to give Speranza a pair of threes on the flop. Talbot didn't find any help on the turn or river and the PokerStars Ambassador was eliminated from the tournament.
