D'Alessio Comes From Behind to Bust Odeen; Taghla Loses a Classic Flip
Jerry Odeen raised to 24,000 in middle position before Ferdinando D'Alessio three-bet to 66,000 in the cutoff. Odeen then moved all in for 292,000, and D'Alessio burned through two time banks before calling.
Jerry Odeen: A♥Q♠
Ferdinando D'Alessio: Q♣10♣
Odeen had D'Alessio dominated and was poised for a double up until the flop came J♣10♦2♦, giving D'Alessio a pair and the lead. The turn was the 4♦, while the Q♦ river improved D'Alessio to two pair and sent Odeen to the rail.
At the same time at another table, Mohamed-Said Taghla was all in for 145,000 from early position and up against Sergio Carro Marin in the small blind.
Mohamed-Said Taghla: Q♠Q♣
Sergio Carro Marin: A♠K♣
It was a classic flip, and Taghla fell behind on the 8♦K♦5♣ flop as Marin spiked top pair. The rest of the board ran out 6♥6♠ and Taghla's Main Event run came to an end.
