Antonio Asaro had less than 100,000 remaining and got his chips into the middle, with Joris Ruijs attempting to ruin his Main Event dreams.

It was a flip, and Asaro took the lead with top pair on the 4♥7♥K♥ flop, while Ruijs had a flush draw.
The 10♠ improved Asaro to two pair, and the 9♠ river cemented his double-up at the expense of Ruijs.
After a lot of raising back-and-forth, Alexandre Reard's stack of 550,000 got into the middle from the button, with Matas Cimbolas trying to send him home from the big blind.

It was poker's classic preflop cooler, with Reard on the wrong end of it.
The clean 4♦4♥6♠10♦2♥ runout was exactly what Cimbolas wanted for his pocket rockets, sending his stack soaring past a million and Reard to the rail.
Michael Dwyer raised to 22,000 from under the gun, and after using one of his time extensions, Michel Molenaar moved all-in for 105,000 on the button. The two players in the blinds folded, but Dwyer flicked in a chip to call.

"That was a waste of a time bank," another player at the table quipped after the pot was chopped following the 8♦A♠8♥6♥4♣ runout.
In a three-bet pot worth 174,000, Xiaosheng Zheng bet 33,000 on the Q♥K♥10♠ flop from the big blind. Yurii Zabrodotskyi then raised to 95,000 in the cutoff, which Zheng called.
The J♣ turn prompted Zheng to lead out with an all-in bet of 361,000. Zabrodotskyi needed little time before he folded, surrendering the pot.
Toni Kaukua raised to 20,000 under the gun and Erik Friberg jammed from the small blind for about 235,000. Kaukua stuck in the call for almost half of his stack.

Friberg was dominated by Kaukua and needed a king or some spades to stay alive.
Neither player improved on the 10♣3♠5♥5♦2♥ runout, meaning Kaukua's ace-high won the pot and Friberg was out.
